We stayed at Excalibur 4 times...of those, we only really had an issue with screaming kids once and that was over New Year one year - so when the kids are out of school...the other three times in September, October and November we didn't really have any issues and we don't really like kids, so we really notice them if they are making a ruckus.
I would think, and I am only guessing here, that if you have two weeks in Vegas and can schedule not to stay at Excalibur over the week containing Halloween, you will be doing yourself a favour...just thinking that staying at a property known to cater to families over the biggest kid-oriented holiday of the year might be a bad idea.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I have a question - just something I am curious about.
For those who have been before, it doesn't seem like many use players club offers - is that because you don't gamble much or you haven't joined the clubs or a little of both, or something else?
Just curious really...we do gamble quite a bit (though we view it as entertainment money and have a budget for each day)...and I think every trip except our first 2 when we didn't know what the players clubs were we have benefited from being members of the various clubs...either free or reduced room rates, free food, discounts on show tickets, discounts in the restaurants and shops, entries into tournaments or spins on a promotional wheel, etc.
Just wondering if most are members or haven't bothered to join? in many cases, you get some freebies just for signing up, so even if you don't gamble, may be worth joining for the signing up bonus and possible discounts for just being a member?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Hi guys,
thought I would put my 2pence worth into this thread as I love vegas.
I will be going this year and staying at Treasure Island. This is one of the best value hotels on the strip - ideal location, and luxury bedrooms. Weekend prices are not bad for TI.
I have previously stayed in Circus Circus - very cheap, but loaded with Children. this one is great for those going with family, and don't mind being at one end of the strip.
MGM Grand was also cheap, but the rooms were awful and the hotel was impersonal. It's huge, and easy to get lost in there.
Monte carlo was great - also very luxurious, and we were able to get the room for $79 per night at the height of peak season by booking at the last minute.
I would highly recommend anyone travelling to Vegas to book their midweek hotel rooms at the last possible moment. In my experience, it's so easy to find dirt cheap hotels during the week. Weekends are obviously a different story.
My friends recently booked flights for July from American airlines for just over 500 quid. There is one stop at Chicago on this flight, but it seems good value for this time of year.
More info coming soon - just need to rack my brain, it's getting late!0 -

I am a member of just about every players club there is and have benefited from the join up freebies, especially Bills club(formerly barbary coast) last time. There are loads of buffet offers in Bills club funbook.
But I play mostly roullette and it doesnt seem I play enough (usually 2 to three hours a day at about $20 a spin) so i dont get any offers although I never ask si I guess that may be why..lol0 -

Depending on where you play, may be worth asking if you qualify for anything. If you have a Total Rewards card or and MGM Players Club card you can check online to see what sort of points you have and see what that might be worth...even a comp to a restaurant is something and if you're entitled to it, worth taking it, I say.Fortunately for us, because we're slot players, they cater to us a bit...rightly so as worst odds in the house and all that...but we like it...bad odds and all.
Thanks for the heads up on Bill's! I assumed that as Harrah's bought it, it would be rolled into their Total Rewards club...will have to make a point to joinDoes remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Hi
I have been looking for flights to Las Vegas for a 3 month stay. The cheapest I am coming up with is around £700 per person!! Is there a better way of doing it? Can anyone help?
Cheers
