  • Hi Guys,

mariacallous - could you please PM me your username and I'll have a look at the notes on your account.

I must be mad as a fish - if you didn't take the free router when you signed up, I'd be very happy to arrange a 210 (router) to be sent to you.

    Kind regards,
    Samara

Update on yesterday, bang on time your tech guy phoned me and we were on the phone for around an hour trying various things, but it looks like the router has dies :( - Not sure how because it's on a surge protected extension, but who knows?

A new has been arranged to be sent to me ASAP

Great support, lets hope the new one solves the problem :)
  • Thanks for the replies and the help.I'm still on a 0.11mb connection speed

I have an ADSL router (which works perfectly fine on my next door neighbour's equipment).

I just got this message from customer support at Madasafish
Thank you for contacting technical support,
We do apologize for the slow speed but the problem does look at this point in time to lie with your phone line and this is something that we have to sort out with bt the fault is not on our end

    regards
    Dhesigan

On connecting to the router via my browser,I get these results:

    Hi Samara,

My monthly bill recently went up. I guess this was written in the contract but can you just double check for me and let me know what is going on. Let me know what info you need to check it out. Many thanks.
And if, you know, your history...
  • Hi Dixie Dean,

I'll have a look at this on Monday for you to make sure that everything is in order. Could you please PM me your username just to make sure that I have it?

If you signed up using the promotion code CHEAPER it's £10.99 a month for the first six months followed by £16.99 a month for the remaining six months. The normal price is £11.99 a month for the first six months followed by £17.99 a month thereafter.

I'll have a look on Monday for you!

    Kind regards
    Samara

  • Hi Samara and reader's

I have asked Madasafish for a Mac code as I wish to move to another ISP mainly for financial reasons as the service had been good up to this point. Actually I entered into contract with a sister company in the Brightview stable IC24 on 16/05/2005 my broadband was activated on 24/05/2005 I updated to 8Mb at no extra cost or conditions on 04/05/2006. IC24 was taken over by Madasafish on 22/08/2006 on the same terms and conditions. 1 year minimum contract

I sent an email to customer care for the Mac code information I was sent a reply that this can only be done on the telephone and they supplied a number. I phoned and told the operator of my reasons to move and whom I wanted to move to, she could not match the price of the rival ISP. She then told me it would cost £80 to obtain the Mac code as she told me that I had entered into a 2 year contract which I know is completely false. What sane and reasonable person would enter a contract that long?.

I have now sent another email to customer care to cofirm or deny in writing what the operator said to me on the phone. I find it is always better to have something in writing than rely on verbal conversations.

Now these are only my personnal experiences, and if this is a big misunderstanding I am prepared to eat humble pie, however it could be a sharp practice to try to get the last drop of money out of a departing customer and no doubt some people would pay.

I now await my reply to my email. I must apologise about my previous reply but this is the third time I have written this it just would not send
  • Hi Nodrog39,

If you PM me your username I'll be more than happy to look into this for you. You can PM me by clicking on My username to the left and a scroll down menu should appear which will give you the option to PM me.

IC24 wasn't run in conjunction with Madasafish for a very long time and there was a period where IC24 was on a 2 year contract - however this was in lieue of several months being offered at £9.99 a month. That contract did have a flat £80 cancellation rate.

In saying that the £80 would only be for early termination (connection and hardware) and not for a MAC.

To my knowledge all ISPs that have operated under the Brightview trading name have never charged for a MAC.

    Kind regards,
    Samara
