Best you can get? £16.95 for 'XL' TV and 'XL' Telephone (i.e. the old 'talk unlimited'). £9.99 for 'L' Broadband (4Mb) NOT a limited time deal, these can be permanent 'for as long as your a customer of VM'. Only likely to be offered to full package - long term customers, but aspire to this and get the best deal you can.
How to get the best possible deals? Well first you HAVE to talk to Customer Retentions Dept. 0800 0520184 (option 1) they have a limited number of the very best deals to give out, they wont want to give them all out on a Monday! so phone midweek if possible. If the first advisor won’t play...be polite and end the call...keep trying till you get someone amenable. You have to be polite but serious about quitting no if's, but's, maybe's in your tone of voice. Think Poker, the other guy (more likely girl actually) has to BELIEVE you are really leaving unless they 'make you an offer you can’t refuse'. If you’re offered a good, but, limited, say 6 month deal - take it, you can just renew it again in 6 months time. Note Broadband deals are maximum 12 months, again just renew with Customer Relations when it ends. Good luck.0 -
Woo hoo, tried back just now, had a really nice bloke answer the phone this time. Just explained that the other dude was really rude and abrupt to me this morning, he couldnt apologise enough!
Turns out I was already on a good deal, saving me £5 per month already as I had 3 for £30 but with enhanced TV thrown in so ay first he offered to upgrade my TV to XL but said I would lose my original offer so might end up paying more. Told him I didnt wanna pay more and didnt particulary want more channels, just some sort of compensation for having lost one of the best. He put me on hold for a min and came back and offered to reduce my bill by £6 pm for LIFE!!! YAY!! Also I am setting up a direct debit when I get paid so from now on will be paying £29 per month instead of £40 for 2MB broadband, L phone service and XL TV!
Not bad this site is it? Cant believe I only cottoned on last week, am telling everyone I know about it. My friends are fed up of me raving on about MSE!!!0 -

So £26.94 for all 3? Seems I have settled too early with the first offer that came up (and lost my 10MB internet in the process). You appear to have inside knowledge? When I was told the best I could get for 10MB BB and XL Telephone would be £36, was that correct? I didn't threaten to leave (as I am actually happy with the service, apart from losing Sky News!) but you suggest that each operator only has a certain number of deals?
Many thanks

I noticed that the available TV packages had changed. We were paying £42 per month for L TV package, 2 mb broadband and phone. Said I wanted to go down to Freeview package. Guy said there would be a charge of £25. I told him that was ridiculous. he immediately offered me 3 for £30 for life. £12 per month saved with one phone call and no change in package. Wish I'd asked him for Sky Sports now!0

Phoned them today, got upgraded from L tv package to XL, upgraded to talk unlimited, and kept my XL broadband, the guy then said he would try and make me some savings and discounted the whole package by £24.00 !!!!!!!!!! I now pay £41 a month
He did also say that if you had XL broadband, they will be upgrading it from 10mb to 20mb in may 2007, the others will change later in the year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HI
We are lond standing customers of NTL, now Virgin. When Sky removed its services we contacted Virgin.
We are on XL package, we have been upgraded to 10mb broadband, which means we can now download favourit programmes. In addition we have movies and sports free. Both of these for six months.:j :j0 -
Phoned Virgin yesterday told them I was not happy loosing sky news even though I was on a free TV package, Also thought that £25 was a lot for 4mg when I could go over to Sky & get Full TV ( less Sport & Movies ) with 8Mg Broadband for just £1 more. After a few minutes I was offered a fuller TV package Plus a saving of £6 per month for as long as I stay with them.
I could have held out for more, But as a fan of Deal or No Deal I knew when to take the DEAL.
I think that Branson has to hold out otherwise we will be paying what ever Sky asks and who knows how much that will be when we are fully digital.0 -
Asked VM what they had to offer in comparison with Talk Talk package and they have given me BB(L)4MB, XL Phone, and discounted mobile& international calls for £20 permanent.
You can haggle with any package it doesn't have to include the TV.0 -
I phoned to cancel my TV package (was just on the cheapest one) as it is a waste of money to me now as I only had it to watch Sky One. The guy on the other end must have thought that I was cancelling all my services because he immediately offered me broadband for £10 a month for the year!
So, although I have lost Sky One my bill has gone from £23.50 a month to a tenner! :T0 -
I was already on TV XL, Broadband L, phone (TEW) with Sports package and rang them to tell them I was leaving to join Sky because of this. Was offered free Sky movies - which I declined and persisted to say that I was going. I was then offered a monthly reduction of £15 pcm to stay with them, which I accepted.
