Halifax
Cant actually believe that I am wiriting on this page at last but I have won £3000
I Started back in late March and was given the standard replys. Contacted them last Friday to tell them to re evaluate my claim, then today I recieved a letter telling me that they have sent me out a cheque for £1874.50, but it is sent as a goodwill gesture. I contacted them and told them in no uncertain circumstances am I accepting that amount and after a bit of a haggle we agreed on £3000. It is £369 short of the original charges I asked for but I am so thrilled I dont mind at all.
One cheque in the post and another on the way woo hoo!! thanks so much everyone and especilly you Martin. :money:

Bank : HALIFAX
Claimed : £2294.18
Received : £2294.18 +court fees
Followed advice on site through to court stage, Halifax entered defence against the claim, disputing the full amount. I then received a letter yesterday saying they wanted to settle in full for 'commercial' reasons. Money was in my account this morning. Job done... :j0 -
Bank: HALIFAX
Claimed £5100
Received: £3500
Following the advice on the site, I sent off letters, recd standard letter back saying I could not claim - I put a call in to the Halifax on 18th May, recd letter back yesterday offering me £2600 - I disputed the figure and settled on £3500 which I am more than happy with.
I just wanted to say... dont give up - I always thought that other people were the ones who were able to claim and never thought it would happen to me.
Thanks to this site, thanks to everyone and their success stories and thanks to Martin.:money: :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :TThanks
Deb

Bank: Halifax
Amount Reclaimed:£1,089.80
Amount they paid: £998 & change - settled in full, including court fee
The story: The Halifax refused my claim initially, arguing that the charges were my fault etc, then once they received the summons they settled; their reason was that it was not cost-effective to fight my claim.
They actually awarded me more - in terms of interest as well as some charges I'd overlooked - than I'd originally applied for!
So thanks Martin and ConsumerActionGroup for the helpful advice and support!
;-)Money can't buy you happiness, but it sure helps!0 -

I have accepted and am really pleased. I sent my 1st letter on 16th April followed by the 2nd on 21st May, I phoned on the 5th June to be told it would be dealt with within the 56 day deadline and then got a letter which was dated 1st June yesterday, I have signed and sent back I hope it's in my account soon.
Thanks to Martin and everybody as I would never have done this without them.0 -
