My visa debit card is run out the end of this month they have sent me a new one but do I have to let 1899 know this? will it make any difference to them getting payment?

My charges seem a bit high this month I havent checked them yet though, I havent been informed of any increase in charges as yet if there have been
    Thanx

If you've already got the new card you could update your details any time. They'll send you an email reminder about a week before the end of the month.

Hi, I have been with 1899 for about 18 months, and like everyone else have noticed the rates creaping up. I am a ntl/virgin user, and use the excellant "orchid" auto dialler box. Is it time to start looking for another deal. I havent been visiting the MSE as much as I used to do, but that is my loss. Still I am back to the tried and trusted method of seeeking all the excellant advice and experience of the site. All advice shall be gratefully recieved.

1899 has not been part of my '6-steps' recommendations for some time (despite its UK 01/02 rate, like 18866's, being the same as 18185's).

18185 was the best of the 3 with it's rates to UK mobiles and, by coincidence, takes the overall lead today.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Have you considered the easy way?

BTW, there'll be an update this coming weekend and, as the clocks will also change then, one 'force home' will update diallers for both at the same time (pardon the pun).

1 further thing, I have read the 1815 rates page. I see you recomend to stay with BT, well as I said,I am with NTL/Virgin, Do I still just get charged the 5p connection charge. I cant see anywhere that the ntl user is charged any more. By the way I am only being charged £0.50 a month line rental after a bit of hagling. As a hardened MSE user. You dont ask,you dont get. Oh & the operator let slip that NTL are having a price reduction on the 1st of May for the TV package. Will watch that 1 with interest. I only pay £10 for the Family pack. Sorry for ranting:j

Sorry, didn't spot the NTL/Virgin part of your post so didn't realise you're on a cable landline.

Anyway, no, you won't be charged more, you'll be charged less (well, for the connection anyway).

    http://18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php

As a cable customer having to access 18185 via their 0808 1 703 703 gateway number, you'll only have to pay 4p connection!

OTOH, you won't get their 0p/minute rate to UK 01/02 numbers - you'll have to pay 1p/minute but, as that's considerably better than VM's 6p connection and 3p/minute, you'll still be quids in!

Unfortunately, you'll also have to pay 10p/minute to call UK mobiles (those with a BT landline only get charged 6p/minute).

Just want to say reception using 1899 to mobiles is atrocious most of the time, especially during the day. There is a very big lag aswell, it all makes it impossible to talk most of the time and I have to put the phone down its dreadfull
    Thanx

And, from a BT landline (although both charge 10p/minute from a cable landline), a lot more expensive (10p/minute) than 18185 (6p/minute) too!
