I don't know what just happened, but Voda just called my wife and offered her the half price deal to £17.50 a month and told her she'd be put into a 12 month contract. She was happy and accepted only taking in the half price deal bit and when she hung up realised that he said it would be another 12 month ! Tried ringing Vodafone and they said changes take 24 hours to take effect and they cannot see anything yet ! To ring back tomorrow and we can cancel the deal if not happy. Help ... has anyone else been told this ? (Also when she asked for £5 deal, they said it was mistake and not offered anymore.)0

From recent postings I would assume they are not offering the £5 deal any more. When I received my call from Vodafone I specifically asked whether it was a new contract and he said no, just until the original 12 months are up. I also made sure I received the same minutes and text as I had when paying £35.
You need to clarify both of those points with them. I would have thought it would be good to be in a further 12 months at £17.50 because I doubt she will get that anywhere else.0 -
Re: Vodafone (PBD)
I don't know what's going on. A colleague (who started his contract about 3 days' before mine) was offered the £17.50 rate and I have been offered a reduction to £10.00 per month, together with a new phone. I asked if this was in response to the recent PBD liquidation and was told that it wasn't (he didn't know anything about it). It was because I'd been a Vodafone customer for over 6 months.:icotbaske0 -
Thats a great offer JR19, what phone did you get? Was there a choice? I presume it was a new contract, was it 12 or 18 months?
I doubt if it was anything to do with PBD/CNM collapse, I don't think its something anyone else on this forum has mentioned.0 -
Even with these offers made by Vodaphone, its best to check your next monthly bill just to make sure they have applied these discounts that they have offered. It is well known in the past that mistakes happen and leaving customers with shock and when it comes to calling them up and finding out whats gone on - they all want to deny it and you are left with no proof to back it up!0

That's why I kept a note of the name and time and date on my call back. Basic principles with everything to do with mobile phones and companies.0

They just told me I was getting half price line rental until the end of my contract which is Feb 14th. They never mentioned anything about an extra 12 months. I wouldn't be too fussed anyway 500 mins and 250 texts for £17.50 a month is good value.0

i have tried to get somewhere with three but they wont budge.......told them about what voda customers were being offered but they wont help. certainly will consider moving to another network when this contract ends in april0

I've only just found out too due to my 2nd lot of Cashback claim form being returned to sender! They hadn't even paid my 1st claim
So I called Vodafone, the guy didn't have any information on Phoneboxdirect so said I couldn't do anything until the 9th month!
Called back after reading up on here and spoke to a lady, she said the same thing but this time gave me a number to call regarding the recent Cashback Claim issues (generic by the sounds of it), it's a third party apparently and sounds like they'll only give advice on options:
08000936080 (only open weekdays 9am-6pm), so I haven't spoken to anyone yet.
I also just sent an email via the Vodafone Contact Us form and wrote everything down so hoping for a call back from them.
EDIT - Just rang 191 again and spoken to someone else, he then said he's sent a Memo & added a code for someone to call me back within 72 hours (although possibly a bit later next week as it's the weekend now).
So at least my query has been registered now.
So if you get someone that sounds like they don't know what they are doing, call again or ask to speak to a Supervisor!0
