just renewed for 200 mins/250 texts, £30 per month (12 months), £360 cashback with no handset. seemed ok to me!

Fab deal Jmarko... I have been on a £30,500",500sms for almost 12 months, my w810i was free and also got £120 credit on my account.

Been reading around but can not see people getting any better deal than this... let me have your thoughts.

Hey think I'll get any better? Offered me 150 minutes and 750 texts for £25 a month with first 12 months being £20 and last 6 being £25. With the W880i, should I accept or try again? My last bill was £50....

I was on to them yesterday and was asking for a <£20 tarrif for 12 months- I didnt care how little minutes or text I got- I was basically told to forget it. The minimum tarriff for a 12 month was £25 and I wouldnt get a recent handset! Very frustrating.

I gave my details to e2save to see if they could get me a better deal for my upgrade- he said that they cant do any better than 02 themselves and advised me to look at their site for new contracts.

Gonna give them one more try on Saturday given the advice on here.

I HATE o2 now and cant wait to leave. :(

I too had a small glitch with O2. I rang retentions and ranted and raved and demanded to speak to a higher person everytime.

They eventually of sick of me and I think I got a good deal in the end.

I got a phone of my choice (I chose the Blackberry Pearl cause I'm a medium business user) on a 12 month contract, 500 mins and 500 texts for 30 quid per month.

Dunno if anyone else thinks this is a good deal, but Im happy with it.

O2 are pretty good at being a phone company, what they are not good at is keeping old customers happy.

Oh, and one last thing. I always complain about the 0870 number that I have to ring and tell them I can't afford it. They more often than not credit my account 5 or 10 quid to cover the cost;)

My contract is due to expire next week, I currently pay £20 a month for 50mins/200 texts, it's the Online 20 tariff. I want to upgrade my phone to the samsung u600 which is free. Whenever I have upgraded before, I've just rang up on the day, told the phone I want and not mentioned anything about the tariffs. What is the criteria for using the retention - it seems a lot of ppl end up on a better contract but I don't want to ring them and them realise I don't have a clue what I'm talking about lol. Thanks.

When I rang back retentions after 3 days the gave it me there and then over the phone, got it in a letter within 5 days too.
