Thanks. Well, I see alternatives to 07744 for my particular usage and I find them great as operator. I just find it inappropriate they'd start charging some numbers without giving proper notice.0

apparently they sent everyone a text-which i might add i did not receive and i opinted this out to them that i had no idea theyd started charging for itWhat goes around-comes around0

I have asked the similar question via different threads- Has anyone started a new o2 contract through Mobileshop's cashback deal lately? According to their tariff t&c, any 08xx numbers are no longer inclusive in the free minutes. Is that correct? Has anybody tried it? I need to know before I take out a deal with mobileshop. Many thanks.0

Since o2 are charging 07744, I have been dialling 0844 a lot for international calls. I know the old tarrif or O2 Online tariff are still free, just wonder is it only new cashback deal with Mobileshop has this exception. It is a pity, I like Mobileshop for its reliability.0

That's news to me. I got an O2 phone from mobileshop less than a couple of weeks ago and have been emailing them about whether 0844 numbers are included in the monthly inclusive minutes. They claim that as long as they are not charged excessively by the companies operating the numbers then there should not be a problem. 0845 & 0870 numbers are definitely classed as being inclusive numbers and I can confirm this from checking on my latest ebills. Are mobileshop now selling a new O2 contract then? I guess I got lucky I bought my phone when I did!0

i took out an o2 contract with mobileshop on 21st July. The 0844 numbers ARE part of the inclusive minutes. 0870 are also included
I wasnt sure either because of what it says on their website but they are coming out of my inclusive minutes
Hope that helps0 -
If you're getting your bills direct from O2, the T&C as specified on O2's website will apply to you. Those still say that 0845/0870 calls are considered as standard (landline) calls. 0800 and 0844 numbers are not explicitly mentioned whether they're included or excluded, but they do come out of your free minutes.0

The small print on the O2 site clearly states i quote.
"
Inclusive call minutes can be used to call some non-geographical and special services numbers with the following prefixes: 0800, 0808, 0844, 0845 and 0870. Once the inclusive minute allowance has been used up, calls to these numbers will be charged as calls to standard UK landlines at the prevailing tariff. Some exceptions may apply and calls to some numbers may be free of charge.
Inclusive minutes cannot be used to call numbers with the 0871 prefix. These calls will be charged at 35p per minute at all times. "0
