  • *Random Question Alert*

I bought a new router from a seller on ebay on 12th August. Now at the time of purchase I read all of the listing and didnt see a note saying the seller would be on holidays, but when I went to see if it had been dispatched there was a note there to say that he was away till 21st August and there would be a delay in shipping. I figured that I had just missed it in the listing and accepted it. I then went to check again after that, and it had changed to the 28th August, now, I know my memory isnt great, so maybe I just misread it the last tie, them he changed it again to the 2nd September !!! Now I know that I was not going mad, so I sent him an email saying that I was not happy with this and expected the item to be posted 1st class on his day of retun and a full explanation as to why this had happened. I have had no reply from him yet and the item is still not dispatched !!
Am I right in thinking this isnt fair and can I put a complaint in via ebay about it ??

I would! He shouldn't be selling things if he is going on holiday plus it sounds a bit dodgy that he keeps changing his homecoming date.

ETA, ask on the ebay thread, those folk know their ebay rules!

you can get fined for not updating your passport with married name, I think it's actually illegal not to. MIL told be off when she found out mine was in my old name :o
just to say you definitely don't have to change it as the lady in the post office thought I was mad for wanting to change mine when it had about 8 years left on it! She said to just leave it till it ran out, but I was very un-MSE and wanted to have my married name on it mostly because I am a bit ditsy and knew I would eventually order tickets with the incorrect name on them.

This is right, you don't have to change it til the current one runs out, just have to ensure bookings are made in the same name as the passport. Saves an un-necessary £77.50!

Went to dentist, and yes I have an abcess. But he just kind of drained it because there are no antibiotics suitable for b/f? Hopefully its gone now, but if not, i just need to go back and repeat!
I have been on 2 different kinds of anti-biotics while BF so there are some out there (can't remember the names though so not very helpful).

Got OH one of the famous Asda cheap suits for his interview next week. It actually looks quite nice.

DH had 2 interviews recently in his new Asda suit, and both interviewers said how well presented and smart he looked. And he got offered both jobs... coincidence or lucky Asda suits? Hope it work for yours lol.

Feely just because a drug has a license in the US doesn't mean it has a UK license or even that it's approved for use whilst BFing in the UK... :)

Speak to the GP and ask if they can recommend an AB that is suitable for the abcess and can be taken whilst BFing.

I find it is a good list as a starting point, and a good thing to show to 'No, there is nothing' type Doctors. To be told (or shown) that there are suitable things out there, often persuades them to research a bit more. Dr Hale is American, but his drug classifications in breastfeeding are respected by many and he is usually considered the expert on the matter, and most Doctors will look into it further if the drugs have been included in his book.

Well I would just turn around and leave her but because the nursery is where she wants to be, that would suit her just fine. I would do it on the way home but as it's beside the main road, that really wouldn't be safe!

She's now rolling around the floor screaming because the nursery have this scheme, every Thursday the kids get to take home an activity bag, you can choose, puzzles, books, arts, scooters etc. Hundreds to choose from. I picked Dotty Dinosaurs for her and we were just playing it on the floor, but she was being a sore loser and screaming if her colour/shape didn't come out, so then threw pieces all over the floor, so I've put it away and told her that It's not hers and she can't treat it like that, so anyhow, she's not screaming for the dinosaur game but tough. She isn't getting it until she can behave.

    I need ibuprofen.

That may be - but the drug licensing is very different in the US and the UK... :) In this case it was a dentist which - no offence to dentists - aren't as up to scratch as doctors in my oppinion on the current available drugs :) Which is why a visit to the GP for ABs would probably be a good place to start.

A list of US approved drugs would likely be dismissed by most GPs - not to mention that the name it's sold under in the US will probably differ from the name in the UK... I would have thought it would be easier to simply either call your GP or visit them :)

*Nice dry brain vibes for Rhys* Does that sound a bit wrong?

LOL I know what you mean :p In the terms you used, his brain is still wet, but I don't know how wet.. The consultant will write us a letter next week and the Comms Nurse has made a note to find out if the letter has been done before she comes out next Thursday, if it has she'll be able to tell us more then :)
elle No one replied so I'm not sure exactly what was going on this afternoon but I hope whatever it was has gone ok and if you need hugs then here you go ((((((hugs))))))

Thankyou hun xx As weezl and ladybird said, it was a brain scan on Rhys. If there is a lot of fluid still there, it may need artificially draining. First appeared 2/3 weeks after he was born and never went away but didn't get any worse over the remaining 5/6 weeks he was in hospital for. Had his last scan a few days before we left so about seven weeks ago now.

Sonographer mentioned he's been put on the list for another kidney scan six weeks from the last one and we'll get a letter soon  I think that's more of a keeping on top of it thing though.

Comms nurse weighed Rhys and he's half an ounce off 7lb  However, he did pee all over the scales so we reckon he WAS 7lb five mins earlier ;):o

I'm fairly sure that Alice was rolling later than she was sitting which is the opposite way round to me.

I only calmed her down by letting her hold the cheese for a while, but then she wanted to swop it for the grapes. I let her hold the bag but didn't realise she'd torn a hole in it and she'd been sneakily eating them :o Had to keep a close eye and tell her not to eat them until we'd paid for them. Then she didn't want to give them to the lady at the till in case the lady didn't give them back. The lady was ill laughing, but I was a bit :o
I used to have to take a rucksack when I went to the local shops because toherwise Alice would want to swap what she was carrying every 30 seconds and would get very upset when I wouldn't let her carry things like cream and bread. (At that stage I had to be selective as she would throw the things on the floor when she had enough of carrying them.) I have to watch Alice with the punnets of things like strawberries as she sticks her fingers in through the holes.

don't be embarrassed! he'll get there at some point it's not lik it'll matter when he's grown up :D
That's what I figure. I walked at 10 months which was before OH even sat up and he didn't walk till almost two but it's not like you can tell the difference now.

went to rhyme time, it wasn't on :( oh well, the walk did us good
I had that problem with ours. It is advertised as fortnightly but it is actually only twice a month so every so often it has a three week gap. I'd made Alice run half the way there too.

Embarassed to say that baby's arrived last week, it was my one I was waiting on - And the worst bit was that it didn't need to be changed, I just wanted it to be in my married name:o:o:o
I changed mine four years ago (and OH got one) and we haven't even used them. We were meant to be visiting some people in Germany but OH never managed to get it organised.

Anyway, she was going away on holiday, but insisted she would come back out tomorrow for a visit to my home and do another check. AND she still insisted on giving me the booklet, after asking if I wanted it and I refused. Whatever. I'm not fussed one way or the other. Today she calls right in middle of 3yo nap (verrry light sleeper) while I am feeding 1mo old. Been long tiring morning as both kids were up alot last night so I am tired. HV insists she wasn't coming to house but had wanted me to pop in to clinic. I told her it really didn't matter to me which as long as I knew which she wanted so I could make plans. HV then says I sound tired and stressed and she is suddenly acting like I've pulled a knife on her, rather than being just a bit short on the phone. Then she INSISTS she must come out tomorrow to the house prior to clinic and make sure I'm doing okay. Grrrrrrr. I am FINE. Just tired. And now annoyed. Are we not allowed to be tired and annoyed without it being PND? Good grief. Ok. Rant over.
You don't actually have to let her in - you can just not answer the door or else answer and tell her she isn't allowed in as you don't want the visit.

Why do they compare, they are all soooo different. Some are academic, some sporty, some artistic. Everyone has different strengths.
Exactly. When Alice was learning to sit/crawl/walk I used to hide it from my friend though because she was slightly ahead of my friend's baby who was 4 months older and I knew she was worried about him enough anyway.
I got a "look" from HV when I said I end up having to feed her to sleep.
If you are happy with feeding her to sleep, I wouldn't worry about what the HV thinks. I've actually no idea what ours thinks about anything I've done as I never saw her apart from 10 days, 16 days, 11 weeks for a weaning talk and 9 months for the 9 month check (which was with a different HV anyway).
