[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif What's this about?[/title]

New customers signing up to Virgin Media a cable bundle via special cashback websites can get £150 cashback - £85 more than usual.

[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif What's available?
[/title]
The £150 cashback applies on all Virgin cable product. So for example, over a year you'd normally pay £280 for the basic landline, TV, weekend calls and broadband which is an average of £23.33/mth. (Inc free installation & £20 online discount). With this deal it's £150, an average of £10.83/mth.

Remember a landline on BT or TalkTalk costs £11.25 alone, so this is a cracking deal, if you're planning on getting a Virgin package. However this just gives you the basic TV package which is pretty similar to freeview. For an extra £5.50/month you can add an extra 20 channels including Sky 1.

One important note is that making calls via Virgin, especially to mobiles, is expensive, so if you do get this package read the Calling Mobiles Cheaply guide to cut the cost.

[/title]
  • Register at Quidco. If you're not already a member join (it's free) cashback site Quidco*. Quidco takes £5/year off your total cashback paid so if this is the first cashback deal you've done you'll get £145.
  • Then click from it to Virgin. Once you're registered and being tracked at Quidco, use its links to Virgin, and you'll be on Virgin's site, just like normal. Yet this way your actions are being tracked and if you purchase it'll be registered to you.
  • Be careful if you've visited Virgin recently. There's a very small chance in this case you'll have a cookie on your computer (a small piece of tracking info) that means the sale won't be registered to Quido.

    If you have you need to delete cookies; something you can do by following the instructions in your browser (usually either Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari... if it's not one of these, you're probably a techie and know all about this!)
Update 13 August. TopCashback has reduced the amount it's paying to £130, making Quidco the better option.

[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif Cashback site payouts are never 100% guaranteed
[/title]
Cashback sites are specialist websites that list retailers/product providers and get paid if you click through them. Importantly they then give some or all of this cash to you. If you're new please read the Best Cashback Sites guide before continuing.

As cashback sites rely on retailers paying them, you can never count cashback as a sure thing until it's in your bank account.

* Using these links helps the site stay ad-free and free to use, as they’re ‘affiliated links’ which invisibly take you via price comparison services like Moneysupermarket or affiliate sites, this then means if you end up getting a product this site gets revenue
You shouldn’t notice any difference, the links don’t impact the product at all and the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by the revenue. If it isn’t possible to get an affiliate link for the best product, its still listed in the same way. The following link topcashback.com, quidco.com are identical unaffiliated link provided for the sake of transparency. Click on the following link for more details on how this site's financed.

    You could use a program like ccleaner to delete your cookies also!
    Annoyingly this offer is only for cable customers and not Bt line. I checked the samknows website which is supposeed to cover all the exchanges in the country and indeed does my localand it states that virgin cable is available for my postcode; yet virgin and a few other sites say its not and i know others who have in the recent past been unable to get cable in this area
  • Does anybody know if the 'bundle' still includes the free wireless router and the set top V box, or do any of these have to be purchased separately?

    Thanks

    Just noticed this a day after signing up!

    Wanted fibre optic broadband, the Virgin site said I couldn't get it despite others in my road having it.

    Being persistent a sound sales chap popped around after picking up my web enquiry and is arranging for them to lay a cable to my house. So I suppose their was no way of me getting this cashback easily with the cable service.
    Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam
  • Does anyone know when this cashback offer stops? I am moving in two weeks and want to get Virgin so this is perfect - but will i be too late to sign up to get the cashback? Any help please?

    Arg! I have literally just signed up for Virgin a few days ago, but I still need to pay the £49 installation charge before continuing. Is it possible to cancel the installation and then re-sign up for this? It's a crazy amount of money to take off the year's bill.

    Would I get the £150 cashback if I took the 50 MB Broadband only? I already have sky & I dont need a Phoneline.

    Thanks
