    Hi all
I am a newbie to the site so please be gentle. Just thought I would regale you all with my tales of horror regarding three. I am at the end of my 18 month contract with three during which time I have received appalling customer service, poor network coverage and generally bad product knowledge whenever ringing up for a query. However I waited it out til the end of my contract and have now requested a PAC code. I have now rang them a grand total of 9 yes you did read that correctly NINE times and was first given the hard sell; I made it clear that I wasnt interested in this and now each time I ring I am told that there is a problem in generating my PAC code but that they are working on it. I have spoke to about 11 different operators including two managers and spent in total about 5 hours on the phone to them. They always promise to ring back by the end of the day but never do and this is still ongoing. Apologies for the long post just wondered if anyone else had any experience in what to do next I would just get a new number but I have had this one for quite a long time.
I'm pretty sure what they are doing is in breach of OFCOM rules. Call OFCOM and report this to them, as the telco's are duty bound to issue PAC codes on request and things like that (sorry that sounds so vague). Get a ref number off OFCOM and call 3 back telling them you want a PAC code there and then, and that you have reported their stalling tactics to OFCOM.
That should stir them into action. Let us know.

Which would explain why three customer services called me to offer a £10/month discount off the line rental. I thought I no longer had a case so I accepted.

So now paying £10/month for 1100 cross net minutes plus 2300 3to3 minutes... If the network was reliable I'd never even think of leaving, as is, I'll probably still be off elsewhere when the contract is up.

Just an update to say three have since gone back on this offer. So I've got my PAC and I'm moving to vodafone SIM only for the duration of their roaming promotion (might go to O2 or t-mobile after that as their SIM only deals include free net access).

Only read if you want the boring details:

When I signed up in June 08, 3 had a promotion where they offered the Mix&Match 1100 price plan for £20/month instead of the standard £27. This was implemented on my bills as a £7/month "loyalty discount" from day one.

When the customer options team member offered me the £10 discount to stay with 3 I mentioned that my bills already listed a £7 "loyalty discount" and he confirmed that the £10 would be in addition to any current discount and that my new monthly bill would be £10 per month after the discount.

However now, weeks later (just before my next bill should be issued...) they called out of the blue to say that the £10 discount is instead of the current £7 discount.... The person I spoke to denied that I was ever offered the £10/per month in addition to my existing £7 discount and claimed it was always going to be instead of the current discount i.e an extra £3/per month off my monthly price plan (interesting that they felt the need to call me to say this then as it had all been agreed weeks ago...)

I think the person I spoke to knew full well I was offered the £10 discount in addition to my current discount but preferred to lie to me rather than admit a mistake. Had they just said the person who made the offer was poorly trained and offered something they did not have authority to offer I might have accepted that. Instead I hung up planing to call back for a PAC code when I had time for another long phone call with retentions.

The next day I get a call out of the blue from 3 Executive office replying to my second letter (which I had copied to 3 head office) from nearly a month ago! The gentleman I spoke to appeared to have no knowledge of my contact with the Indian call centre or the £10 discount offer. He offered to let me cancel with no termination fee then efficiently issued me with a PAC code, apologised for any inconvenience caused and got me an unlock code for my handset.

3's left and right hands are so far apart they're it's as if they're no longer attached to the same body....

    Hi all,

I think that even if they have removed the 3 Like home services. customers who are on 3 and use international roaming services would still benefit from them as they have the lowest international roaming charges...can always compare them and surely they are the best....

    regards.
    :j

well no, for a 75p connection that works out to be Vodafone......3LH beat Voda Passport on selected countries & 3 removed 3LH

I had the same, was told £5 a month & got charged £15 - 3India are absolute blatant liars.......

I agree with your statement^ but I'd like to elaborate....
3UK DONT EVEN KNOW LEFT FROM RIGHT

The only "left" they know is thousands of customers deserting them every time they change T&C & the million$ that has cost them ( once bitten twice shy, never been heard by 3UK management ? ).

3 had so much to offer 6 years ago, that all changed not long after.....Customers get "welcome to 3" but more are happier after experiences with fr33dom !

Now 3 offer poor plans in comparison to the other UK networks & poor "care" to boot. I'm glad Vodafone is now controlling 3AU....things can only get better ! HOP3 is all we disgruntled customers can have - 3UK suffers a similar fate
( and the number 1 loss making arm of 3Global/Hutch/HWL will eventually ! )

You r3ap what you sow.....NO care, NO revenue...."simple's!"

Put it in writing and mail it to them. Use recorded so they cannot deny recieving it. State they have 7 days from the day after the postmark and after that you will take it to Ofcom.

Ofcom are the last resort you need to show you have tried all avenues with three first. If you haven't Ofcom will tell you to do so before they will do anything.

Tried cancelling today. I have been on the phone since 9.55am.
I have 3 contracts with 3 only 1 got the text message, but thought i would try all 3. My reply is that they haven't got any records of any of my contracts being sent the texts, so they won't cancel my contracts unless i pay them to end early.....any help?

^ STALLING you, record calls and if @ a loss go back my posts & you will find information explaining how to cancel where under UK law you are protecting yourself.

You basically in writing cancel via letter citing change of T&C to your detriment to 3's UK REGISTERED OFFICE, you send this recorded/registered or courier - a signature signs for your legal 30 day notice ( or PAC request ), NO judge can be challenged by 3UK that they never got such "notice" to 3's REGISTERED ( for UK tax ) OFFICE. Any other address a judge can rule in a companies favour you did not give suitable notice to the suitable "3" department. REGISTERED OFFICE is where ALL legal issues should be sent so - a breach of T&C is a LEGAL issue :)
