Use their complaints procedure. Details under 'contact us' on their website.

Sorry for banging on about this but I've done as suggested above but they don't appear to want to receive emails, when you click on the links you either have to ring, write or go into branch.....

Has anyone actally queried it by email or did everyone ring?

I sent them a secure message (Log in, go to help -> contact us -> other ways to contact us -> send us a secure message). They replied and paid out the £100 to me the next day.
  • I opened my account 1st September 08, paid in my first £500 in my October salary, got £100 incentive 23 December.

Mine was only paid once I called their customer services and asked them about it. They then told me it would be paid within the week which it was so it might be worth calling them to see what they say?

    Good luck! :)

Do you have to transfer your current account to them or just open a new one!?

Tsk, Tsk. You followed the rule about posting your referral in the referrers board, then broke the one about linking to it on the main boards... and the one about putting a link in your signature.

There are much more generous offers in that thread than the one John898 makes, people. Shop around!
Edit: In fact, use Quidco for £50 all for yourself.

I reported it to "abuse" ;););)
  • I took advantage of this offer and joined A&L in Sept and it took until mid Nov for all my DD's & SO's to transfer and thus my salary (£500+) to pay into there. I'm still waiting for my £100. I have just rang them to chase this and the customer service chap advises me it's currently approx a 15 week wait (!) as they have a back log. I pointed out this was pretty poor and the fact they're re-running this same deal again despite the apparent backlog.

Regarding the interest free overdraft - again I had to wait until Dec before they would approve one - some small print saying they will not consider giving one for x weeks, despite writing to me and claiming they'd declined my request due to my credit rating! (which it wasn't)

Other than these issues the service has been average. No other problems as such since switching from Lloyds TSB after 25 years banking with them.

Considering switching to A&L for the £100 offer as Halifax are changing my account terms now. Went with A&L a few years back to milk there previous refer a friend, says open to anyone as long as you have not been a past customer in the last 3 months.

Considering Nationwide aswell as they have a £75 offer on too, but I am not a fan of there website as I have had online savings before with them.
