Hi folks,
Well, it took less than 24 hours after the tip sent for them to get rid of this bonus - we've just received confirmation that it has been withdrawn this morning.
In that time over 50,000 people read the article. If it was £100 each, and half actually did it thats a cost of £2,500,000 and we managed to close down a bribe to a poor current account at the same time. Consumer Revenge at its finest. I hope you managed to get it in time, if not, better luck next time!Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

Just phoned them and they wernt aware of the 12 month thing...
But she said it was definetly 2 months you have to pay in £1K0 -
BTW - i take it no one has confirmation by email of the application?0

Looks like I've missed out but big CONGRATULATIONS to you and the team Martin. That's a huge sting on Barclays and I'm happy to say I'm in Canary Wharf and looking over at their tower with a stupid smirk on my face. Well done that man!0

Will anyone be getting the £100 bonus now?0
-
Not sure - i just rang them and they said it was still on, but guess they haevnt informed all teh CS staff yet0

I applied first thing thios morning. As far as I'm aware, the offer was still on then. How do I go about proving that though?0
-
I'm unclear - for those who have applied online before the offer was withdrawn, do the original T&C's still apply, ie: will we still receive the £100 after 2 months of depositing £1000, or does clause 8 "Barclays reserves the right to withdraw the availability of the offer at any time without notice" mean that no-one will get the £100?0
