    havent seen you in a while hope you are okay, ive been on and off too over the past week, dont know if you have managed to catch up with the latest posts there are a few newbies who would like a number so if you havent ill see if i can find them as i did say to them i would remind you,

    catch up laters, just off waiting on a friend, helping her later here to sort out her debts,

    Sarriep - I imagine that it is a credit agreement as with any other and in the small print there will be a section which says if you fail to keep up with the min payments they will start charging you interest. Try not to worry too much as they will get the proportion that you can afford as part of your total debt, but your DMP people will sort that out.

    Zoeysmum - I don't understand why you have to wait so long. I did the "debt remedy" online, but obviously you need to have all the figures in front of you, then you get a "web reference number" and I spoke to someone the saem day. Btw, they told me there was nothing they could do as we were over spending by £600/month, BEFORE we made minimum repayments for our debts of around £1000/month!!! _pale_ That was a hideous moment, but to give you heart, we now have a surplus of £200 after a lot of re-shuffling so are about to go onto a DMP with CCCS. They are brilliant and will talk you through calmly what you need to do - mainly to help you identify your priority payments, and provide template letters and course of action until your DMP is set up.

    Hi, sorry if this has been asked before, but is there somewhere online that tells you which banks / loan providers are connected to each other? I have been advised to open a new account before going on a DMP, and would like to go with Alliance & Leicester, but its such a maze of ownership, I don't want to inadvertently open an account with someone I currently have a debt with.

    We had a poorly week in the house, typical the week hubby had off for day trips out etc. Down to just the smallest one ill and she is currently fast asleep on the sofa.

    I had better look back or say if anyone wants a number to join just shout up and I will keep it up to date - I have been slipping! :eek:

    The people who own Abbey (Santander) have also put in bids to buy GE Money as well as A&L. Not sure if they have all gone through yet but there is a possibility of those being linked in future ;)

    http://www.payplan.com/debt-library/miscellaneous.php this link has the families of banks, but is slightly out of date A&L are probably being bought by Abbey and GE Money behind most store cards will also be part of that group.

    The FSA website has a list of "basic" bank accounts

    and Payplan has a list of who is linked to who
