Zoeysmum you will be surprised how much money you have to play around with after the CCCS have helped you with your budget
When you have been robbing Peter to pay Paul for so long it's a relief to get things sorted.
When my DH was alive we had upped our DMP payments so that our debt free date had reduced from 61 yrs to 12 yrs
As I am now off sick following his death, it's gone up again to nearly 40 yrs but hey, it's only money
The CCCS counsellor has been wonderful because I cannot think at all at the moment.
As I think I may be off work for a long time,I am going to try and get my creditors to accept full and final offers so that I can try and move on with a clean slate.0 -
Janey nice to see you back again. I hope things are going as OK as they can do for you at the moment. You take care.

Hi everyone its the clueless one again! I rang the Co Op bank and they want me to send some proof of address a i have only lived in my current home since February! I did the cccs debt remedy and it recommended i go bankrupt (i am only 22!) And the thought of it being posted in the local paper terrifies me! So the other solution was a low start dmp. So they are going to send me the papers for it all! I have serious migraines think the stress of it all is getting to me but its nice to know the ball is in motion!
Hi Janey51 that is what im hoping for, last month i had to go to the shop and buy cheese with 5ps!! I dont want to be in that situation anymore! So i hope that it gets sorted soon! Soory to hear about your partner dying hope things get easier soon for you.
The cccs reckons my debt will take 11 years and 4 months to clear! Yikes! But like ive said before things couldnt get much worse right now!! Thank you all so much for your help!xx0 -
Well done Zoeysmums06 you've got the ball rolling and taken control again. I am on a low start dmp too, it's not a problem.
I know as my kids get older I will work more hours and my husbands wage will go up so the 16 years they forecast for my dmp will get shorter. I start a part time job on the 22nd and just by paying an extra £100 a month towards my debts I can be debt free in 9 years instead.
Don't worry anymore, let CCCS handle it for you (they are experts and it'll be like water off a ducks back to them!)DMP mutual support number 199Debt free in [strike]2025[/strike] 2018 (hopefully a lot sooner!):j Smokefree since 10pm 2/7/08 :jBaby no.3 due 29/04/20110 -

I run my own DMP but did the CCCS debt remedy thing online and they recommended selling my house or a low start DMP. But at least it is a start I think I am about 16 years or something away on paper from being debt free but to be honest I don't work it out. All I know is that as a family we are managing now and the companies can wait!0

Added you to the list on page 2, number 229!
Official welcome and I hope you find all the support you need! :T0 -
Although there sending me the letter i forgot to add two debts! I did it last night and was so tired! But i spoke to them and they said when i get the paper work i can ring them and adjust it. I have also just had a call saying ive been accepted for a new job(same place but different dept more hours) so hopefully that will help! Also just wanting your opinion, i have no savings and after the cccs have taken the money for the dmp, with the money left would you advise putting more into the dmp or saving? I twould just be nice to know theres back up money as before id just order off the catalogues or put it on the credit card thats no longer gonna be an option!!!x0

And i dunno why the bloke on the phone suggested waiting two weeks think i would have had a break down, much easier doing it online even though i still messed it up! But it can be adjusted once the paper work comes through!x0

Save your money!!! You never know when something crops up and you need cash for it (it was our washing machine the other week!). Use it as a cushion and you can always add to it in the future and after a few years try for full and final settlement to your debts.
It's a scary postion to be in when you live with no credit but the feeling of paying for something with your own money feels wonderful. xDMP mutual support number 199Debt free in [strike]2025[/strike] 2018 (hopefully a lot sooner!):j Smokefree since 10pm 2/7/08 :jBaby no.3 due 29/04/20110
