Number 232 officially added and welcome! :T
  • I think that would be great to see members on here get debt free too, might take a while though Ray, think we are all in it for the long haul :D

Anyway what would we do if we were all debt free? we would be ever so bored with nowhere to post our troubles and worries, funny stories and tales :D

    hiya just popped on again,

fab rayday and thanks too toffee penny, you have both made me smile, there is still hope - in reality if anyone of us wins just 92 million tomorrow, wouldnt it be great to pay off all our gangs debts off, still have at least 91 million left!

we can all dream, and all hope but above all, we all must live life to the full each and every day

got to keep coming back to read up all our daily antics, good and bad, as it makes you feel human at least

off to look at the competitions thread, feeling lucky lol

  • Hey Angel Cake

Yes I found your reply and thanked you, it was nice to get your message xxx

Well after getting fed up looking at the creased letter lying on the side I decided to write to Lloyds just to ask them who the heck they think they are, did they know who I was and tell them that I was black belt in everything :D As if!! But wouldn't it be a laugh if you wrote letters like that back to creditors? :rotfl:

    Seriously I sent them this...

    Dear Sir or Madam

Following your letter dated 20th August regarding my account I am writing to inform you that Lloyds TSB did receive notification of my debt management plan with the Consumer Credit Counselling Service in June and have received two payments from them so far.

Since I have sought the help of CCCS I understand that they too have made any necessary arrangemnets to contact you on my behalf with full details of my income, expenditure and other creditor details.

I feel it is unacceptable to say that my account with you is a low priority and I ask that Lloyds TSB be sympathetic to my current situation and put any additional charges on hold.

My offer of £xx will remain and I will continue to make this payment to you every month through CCCS.

I would like to ask that my payment protection is cancelled with immediate effect as the policy is now invalid.

    Yours faithfully

    Me

On a funnier note.... I wrote to all my creditors in mid June, advising them that I can increase my payments slightly. All of them have either written agreeing to the payment, or have just taken the money. One however, is still making it's mind up! Two weeks after sending the letter increasing the amount I pay them, they wrote and asked me to call them. I did, and they advised me that the account is now off the DMP, but that I should send my bank statement and pay slip (which I did). Two weeks later they wrote and asked me for a breakdown of the creditors and how much I'm offering them. I replied, copying them the original letter and income/expenditure form.

I've just received a letter telling me that they're unable to help with my request, because I didn't sign my letter, and could I send another. I find this really funny, but hubby is not very amused. It doesn't bother me because I'm still paying them while they're playing games. They really need to sort themselves out. Oh well!

Agghhh! It gets worse! Today, I sent another letter attaching my income and expenditure form etc, and then got home to find yet another letter from Capital One. This one states that although they've requested an income and expenditure form from me, they haven't received it! How come I have a letter in July saying thanks for it?

Then it goes on to say it doesn't matter anyway because they are going to set up a payment plan for 12 months based on my monthly payment (which they've stated is £5 less than I've sent for the past 3 months!).

Then it goes on to say that they've issued a default notice (which I haven't received yet and I guess means that they're getting ready to go to DCA) and that I need to reply to that within the timeframe outlined that I'm content to work within the plan. What is it that I've been trying to do since June??? Then, it goes on as if this is the first letter I've had from them - eg, cut up the card, stop any auto charges to the card, and cancelling the direct debit (it's paid via standing order).

I will have to write to them to explain all this, and to ask that although they've sent a letter on 2 Sept, asking for payment by 30 Sept, will the payment that left my account on 1 Sept cover this. But... talk about bum and elbow!

Yet another letter to them which is going to cost nearly a £1 to send! Grrrr!

Bless you but this doesn't mean you will get extra chicken nuggets at the McDonalds do I am arranging for us all after I win the Euro :p

As I mentioned before me and other half split up early this year. He lost alot of money gambling, I wasted a lot shopping and we just got trapped into this make believe you are really rich lifestyle.

As they say money is the root of all evil and the lack of it caused alot of arguements and worry. We had been together a long time, have a family together so there is alot of history to just give up altogether. It's just confusing and thats why I said I felt lost last time I posted as we are in talks to get back together and face our debt and our problems head on. Family are asking all sorts of questions wondering if one of us cheated!!!!! (no one knows why we split as we always appeared to be the happy couple, how can you admit you are in money trouble to family? Honestly it's embarrassing and we feel ashamed that we were both so stupid with money) Thats why I seek refuge some nights on here reading through posts, everyone here understands the rubbish days and some of you can sympathise with the real problems masked by the computer screens.

I will be ok so please I don't want anyone feeling sorry for me, there is more to life than worrying about debt. Getting our family back together is far more important to me. Thats why I always say to others don't worry about debt free dates, stressing about this and that to reassure others that your health and family ARE the most important things. Like everyone else starting out facing their debt issues you get good days and get bad days but this is the real reason behind my bad days

take care cyber mateys, there is always someone worse off than yourself and I hope by my ramblings someone feels better :D By the way no alcohol was consumed whilst typing this post! :p
