Cheers Rayday -I think I'll send them an SOA based on the National Debtline model. I noticed they are listed as one of their supporters so at least I'll be able to quote this to my advantage.icon7.gif

  • Ray Day can i have a number please? Then i will officially like one of the gang! You lot are like my new second family!!
And toffee penny i feel the same! Alot of my debt is from catalogues as ive just got my first flat and trying to furnish it, buying my daughter clothes from next!! Trying to keep up witht he jones'! But now i no longer care about all that as long as my daughter and i have a roof over our heads, are fed and healthy etc, nothing else matters!
When i rang cccs and told them of my debts i thought they'd laugh as a lot of it is self inflicted but they are so supportive, im just waiting for the paper work etc but i hate waiting!!
And am wondering what i will do with the extra money i will have?? Think i will save it! And it will be so wonderful having a bank account in credit!! Woo Hoo!
    Sorry im ranting!
Seriously i have got one dilemma hope you can help: basically i have two loans one comes out the 27th and the other the 29th. I get paid the 26th but i dont know how far into proceedings i will be with the cccs, so do i leave money in there to pay the loan this month or do i take it out and put in the new bank if that has been activated and same with my dds? Because i also have an overdraft of *cough*1500*cough* that is maxed out so if i take the money it will just mean the bank are paying the overdraft (hope this all makes sense)? Sorry its all sort of up in the air and im feeling a bit anxious!
Thanks for reading hope you can help!!

I have just decided to go with CCCS, it is a bit scary, they have advised me to stop paying all creditors from now, my DMP starting 1st October, so Instead of paying almost £1000 to my creditors this payday I will be sending £427 to CCCS, with letters to the creditors about the DMP. Also CCCS advised that as I have an overdraft with Abbey to stop using the bank and open a new one. I have already got a halifax account which is a basic bank account with no overdraft so both my husband and I are getting all our future payments sent to the Halifax and then we can start paying the Abbey through the DMP as we are currently paying £55 a month to reduce overdraft which we just cannot afford to do any more.

So I would definatly advise getting a new bank account with your overdraft and would recommend CCCS for DMP to anyone.

    Hope this helps:o

Can you stop the loan DD at all? That's what I did - cancelled the payment so they just got the token payment I sent by cheque, then the DMP payments ;) (I cancelled all my DD payments via internet banking).

I understand you can't do this if the loan DD is with the same bank as your current account though :o - Mine were different banks.

Do you have a DMP in place, if not, then definaltly set one up even if just for a short time, at least you can stop paying huge amounts out and struggling. I would move to new account if you can them make the min payments to overdraft, even if with same bank, cancel DD, they cannot take payments out if there is no money in there, I would however speak to them about coming to an arrangement if you do not want to go for an official DMP, try negotiating with them. If nothing else try to get the interest frozen and stop future charges being added to the overdraft - most banks will do this for you I have never had any problems with sorting this out with banks its generally catalogue's and HP loans which you have problems with.

Anyhoo hope this help if I have confused you even more ... sorry, not very good at putting stuff online yet,
