Ive paid most of my bills for sept so depending when the dmp is set up will depend on what gets paid etc its all a bit up in the air! One company that rang me for a dmp want 17.9% of the repayments each month so i will hold out for the cccs to get back to me hopefully will receive something tomorrow!xx
FORGET the fee paying company. They will just cost you money and will make it take longer for you to get debt free. They will not give impartial advice because they are driven by profit.
CCCS is a charity. They will be on YOUR side and give you the best advice for YOUR situation.
Don't worry about the co-op wanting proof of ID. Bank of England regulations mean that they have to prove to themselves that you exist as a real person. Since you are going for a basic account, they don't care about your credit history because they will not be lending you any money.0 -

Have you thought about amending your CCCS budget at all? It seems obvious you're not living off the money available if you keep ending up further in the overdraft. If you make a note of the figures you REALLY spend, you might find it enlightening and you will be able to see what areas you struggle on.
I just spent £25 on printer cartridges coz OH uses the computer/printer for work quotes, invoices etc. Wasn't really budgeted for....
I also sold some clothes and shoes on ebay this month to raise some cash to pay for expensive energy saving lightbulbs (spots in the ceiling style so expensive ).
Is there anything you could sell or any way to raise a bit of cash that could make a dent in the overdraft? When you've made a dent you might be more determined to cut costs and pay a bit more off?working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

My printer, a black cartridge is £25 and a colour £30 if I buy the manufacturers ones.
I now go to http://www.cartridgepeople.com/
I got 2 black and 2 colour for £12. They usually arrive 2 days after ordering.
They are usually very reliable. The one time I got a duff cartridge I phoned to ask what to do, they just sent a replacement - no arguments.0 -
Thanks andy. Have tried "fake" cartridges and always had issues.
This month I went for the ebay option where people have bought newer printers and have genuine cartridges left so instead of £25 for a black cartridge, for the same money I got two black ones and a colour oneOut of date, but work fine

We all have bad days sometimes I feel so low but like you things are much better than they were - like you I am a Rachael spelt the proper way too
Have you thought about setting yourself a challenge and tackling the overdraft slowly but in manageable bits? Its a thought, I have reduced mine out of necessity really it is our only emergency money so while being overdrawn we didn't have any.
Well we have the emergency emergency ISA and the world is coming to an end ISA but I am determined not to touch those!
If you can't reduce the overdraft how about setting up a savings account and saving the amount your overdraft is then paying it off in one go and cancelling it?0 -

Does anyone know if you can get energy bulbs to replace R somethign spot lights? We don't have the "big" lights on very often but I would prefer having energy ones if we do and the spots don't last very long anyway.0 -

Hmmmmm.... "R Something"..... Nice and vague.
Go to that shop that sells thingumy bobs and buy some "R(es) Something" bulbs. is the vague response.
More specifically, a quick google gurgle for energy saving bulbs will turn up a few good sites. Or take a wander around the DIY stores. They all have good ranges now.0 -

I find it much easier to save if an amount goes out the account direct into another, but found it really hard just to chisel at an overdraft. I also find it hard to do grocery challenges and meal planning I think I lack commitment and life is a bit too spontaneous. Like today eldest comes in with her friend can she stay, I don't mind and I want her to be like that but meal planning today would have been terrible.
Maybe I can be more committed to it when I have more time lol!0 -
hello all,
hope u are warm in your cosy homes, its been dreadful weather, like a bad winter day
anyway, hiya to all and all our newbies
I just wanted to say thanks firstly to those who thanked me for my ramblings last night on post no 2023
Angelcake, Bigdi, ianmak, Newlywed, Symesd
appreciate it.
Also - hiya to The Shuffs - if you see in my signature at the bottom of my post im trying to reduce my Evans card and have subscribed to a fab thread
A payment a day..... by ehallett
can be found in The Debt-Free Wannabe Resource Bar
basically, everyone is committed to try and make any amount of a payment but each day, or save over a few days and credit a particular debt they want to concentrate on to reduce.
Everyone have a check i think its brill, and what im doing is also set up the payment as a bill payment on my online banking, and as someone there suggested the pence to show the actual day so ie today if i wanted to pay 1.05 - the 05 would show id sent that payment on the 5th of the month.
Hope it may be of help to you and others, once its gone its gone, i find i could save it in a connected savings account online but sooooooooo easy to pass back into the current account.
Just im finding this a useful challenge,
anyway all the usual guys you know who you are , glad you are all doing okay and yes we do have to take the bad days with the good days,
it soon passes though
everyone have a fun weekend, off to do the dinner will check in laters
