Does anyone know if you can get energy bulbs to replace R somethign spot lights? We don't have the "big" lights on very often but I would prefer having energy ones if we do and the spots don't last very long anyway.

Tesco do some energy saving R50's R30's - as long as you don't need dimmable ones - you do kinda need to know what the something is though ;):D

Even bankrupts can get bank accounts you just need to apply for the right ones - basic ones.

It is important that you choose a bank that none of your creditors are related too, http://www.payplan.com/debt-library/miscellaneous.php this thread has that information but class A&L, GE Money and Abbey all as the same group as Abbey are in the process of buying them all.

When you say you have no money at all, do you mean not even enough to live off? Or if you don't pay any of your creditors is there any left?

I would cancel your direct debits as soon as possible definately for creditors be cautious with legal obligations like council tax, TV Licence etc. I cancelled my utility bills to help me as I knew they would catch up a couple of months later.

They don't have to agree to a DMP as it is not a formal agreement like IVA, they just get there money whatever they decide and no more.

ANother thing if you are over your overdraft you need to get moving quick to make sure wages and any benefits are paid into another account ASAP. Are you single or have a partner with joined finances?
  • im single

i applyied for the co-op basic account havent heard from them yet i applyied at smile they declined

i dont get paid till the 26th but i wanna get it sorted otherwise they will take it all.

so i should cancel all my direct debits straight away like now

Definately for any creditors, anything vital like the council tax cancel it and ring them to tell them that you will make arrangements to pay them later, you don't want to risk upsetting your legal obligations.

You should have your account number pretty quick once they sort it out and you can always ring them to push it a long a bit.
  • cheers mate

if smile rejected me there on the list with co-op will they reject me.

i have no beef with anyone from llloyds tsb so can i get a basic on with them

what do u need to open a basic bank account passport proof of address?? been a while

Basic accounts need smaller amounts of ID (lucky for me I have no photo ones) they are happy with driving licence new kind, council tax bills, utility ones, any benefit letters or tax ones that kind of thing.

I don't think Smile do basic accounts so probably why you couldn't get an account, I applied for a non basic CO-OP account and they said no but then posted me a basic account form which is going through as I speak so should be no worries there. If you are anxious and have a Lloyds bank near you thats open tomorrow you could go along with some ID no problem with having more than one account.
  • sorry mate im so clueless

so u can have more than one bank account ?? (thick as )

i have cancelled all my direct debits to the creditors

the only money i have is on a credit card im living off

and im trying my hardest not to tell my family my bro or my dad they would feel let down
