    Thanks rabbit!
Do you know what would happen if any of the amounts were too high? Would CCCS still act on our behalf? Have creditors ever questioned the amounts? I'm sure they accept that everyone's situation is unique don't they?
It is a worrying time. This board is so great! Before I started reading everything on here I thought we'd lose our house, have to confess all to relatives and never be able to be 'normal' again. As a huge proportion of our debt is from DHs gambling I'm not sure how our relationship would have held together if we'd had lost our house.
Anyway, must stop dwelling on ifs and buts!
    Thanks again! :)

Thanks! I've used the online thing at cccs. It came up with a DMP of £430 a month! Thats nearly £700 LESS than we're (not managing to) pay at the moment! Wow we will be able to LIVE! And maybe save some as well? It will take over 9 years but I've read lots about how people manage to finish in less time. TBH I don't really care if it does take 9 years!

:) Looking FORWARD to the future! :):) :j :D  :rotfl: :T

  • I'm away to send a letter to Lloyds TSB for each of our credit cards with them to try and get charges and interest frozen as they have started phoning again and have sent the grey solicitors letter. I know they know about the DMP as they confirmed it over the phone but I don't think they have actioned the paperwork yet as still getting charges and full interest with a request for the usual monthly payment (plus arrears).

Do I need to send a copy of the budget sheet and creditor summary that I got from CCCS or do I just send the budget sheet with a note of the offer to them? I'm not sure how much information to give them at this time.

    Thanks

    Hi Parsley,

I'm sure it can't hurt to send them the lot. Although CCCS will be contacting them on your behalf, I find it useful to bombard them with letters etc from all angles. At least there's no way they can say to don't keep them informed then.

Hi Everyone (and hope you are enjoying this fine Summer's day  )

I'm on a self managed DMP and everything has been jogging along fine, until the last few months. With the increased cost of living (fuel, utility bills, food etc etc) I am struggling to keep up the agreed payments to my Creditors.

I need to write to them to ask them to agree lower amounts for a while (will they agree to this?) and hope they play ball.

Is there a template letter someone could point me towards for this? I'm sure I've seen a link to one on here before?

    Thanks Guys.

Hi, just had a thought I am starting DMP with CCCS on 1st October 2008, they have sent me all the paperwork which we havespent most of yesterday pulling together, and I suddenly realised they need my 1st payment soon - how to I get this to them.

I do not have a cheques book, I only get paid on 15th Sept and CCCS need my 1st payment by the 1st October to start the DMP.

And how do I get each payment to them - do they have CHAPS/BACS facility so you can sent it to them via online banking ?

Anyone know, or will I have to ask my bank to raise a cheque each month and post it to them when I get paid?

    Thanks

that's the whole point of a DMP for me.

Iwas getting deeper and deeper into trouble by paying those who shouted loudest. Now, at least once it all kicks in properly will be able to manage properly. On paper it looks like it will take forever, but hopefully that will change.
