DMP Mutual Support Thread (Part 4)

Hi, my DMP with cccs is due to start on October 1st and I've just received a default notice from BoS (AA Personal Finance - loan). From reading oher posts on here, I think this is supposed to be ok?
It states that if I don't pay off the arrears by 15/9 they may issue court proceedings, and then goes on to provide settlement figures for the entire loan (as if I'd be in arrears if I could pay it off in full? Are they mad?
Does anyone else have experience of BoS / AA personal finance? Are they really going to take this to court, even though they must know by now about the DMP?
Any advice welcome!!

Sorry Rabbit I'm not sure but I think it is quite normal to get these. I'm expecting some of my creditors to not play ball! Contact CCCS tomorrow - I'm sure they'll be more help than I was!
I remember there was advice from CCCS about what to do if you get a court date but I think lots of companys justwant to use scare tactics to make you pay up! (Like we wouldn't just love to settle all our accounts if we could!!!) LBM August 2008:eek:Total debt £51914.74 Paid off so far £47,611 DMP started November 08 Current debt £4,303.73Proud to be dealing with OUR debt ! :T0 -

One question for all you knowledgeable folks though... I have a bank charges reclaim on hold with the courts since last year. The bank is Abbey, but the account is an old now closed account. We also have a credit card with Abbey that is part of our DMP.
So, under the "hardship" guidelines, can we ask Abbey or the court to revisit this claim now, which if successful would be offset against the debt?
Thanks,
MM[/quote]
I too have a claim pending with the Abbey, I am going to try to contact Abbey today about this so will let you know how I get on.
Wish me luck - its worth £1048 if they pay out all the charges they have taken from me. Surely this would be enough to realise I am struggling with debt, if I keep going overdrawn..... How can they possibly think their charges are fair and lawful.Current Debt £16,364 about to settle following pension payout0 -
Hi Rabbit, I have had the same experience. BoS just handed it over to their inhouse DCA Blair, Oliver & Scott who are fine to deal with. Good luck!0

HSBC have said they will accept my offer of reduced payment IF I agree to combine all 3 debts (loan, CC and overdraft) in to a managed loan. I'm fairly sure I read that these were bad things to agree to? It said the managed loan would be for 63 payments which is a lot longer than the CCCS DFD of 4 years 1 month.
This appears to be typical HSBC tactics right at the beginning of a DMP. It is really naughty as they know they should not be offering any debtor more credit to get out of debt and goes totally against all the guidelines they are supposed to agree to.
Do not accept this loan
Stick with CCCS because HSBC are one of the "supporters" of the CCCS and they will accept your reduced payments eventually because they know that is all you can offer.0 -

If I remember from my quick scan read of your post, (was trying to do a quick catch up and come back later) you were thinking about requesting Sars to negotiate F&F.
To be honest I don't think you have anything to loose by attempting this even if you only get rid of one or two maybe later you could try again etc and if they don't accept stick as you are on your DMP.0 -
Hi everyone, hope you are all well.
I recently took our new Buildings & Contents Insurance as it was up for renewal, did't go on a comparison site, I checked a few sites out and got quotes, and settled on Tesco's as they had an offer of £60 Shopping voucher - thats almost a weeks shopping for our family, so it looked like a good deal, I signed up online and everything went through docs arrived and everything was great.
I got my statement from Tesco for my clubcard point and nothing on statemtent about the home insurance and vouchers.
I rang them up and they said I only get the vouchers if I put in the special code. I did it on line and thought that this would have been done automatically as thats why I applied, was not happy.
They said that if I could find the code they would honour it. Great I thought that will never happen the offers have all changed on line how am I supposed to find the code.
Then yesterday when I was sorting through some paperwork I came across a leaflet for tesco home insurance with the voucher code on it - yippeeee!!!
I remember why I had gone for it in the first place now we had the leaflet through the door.
I rang them and gave them the code and they said the vouchers will be sent out in next few weeks. :T
Phew what a relief thats 1 weeks shopping saved very soon, "every little helps!" Result especially as I applied for the insurance in June 2008.
The moral of this story is "read the small print" and do not expect anything on line to be done automatically. LOL
Have a nice day everyone.Current Debt £16,364 about to settle following pension payout0 -
Nice save Symesd! They are pretty good Tesco when you get through to customer services it just annoys me that you have to! I order once a month my dog food and heavy stuff. Anyone else notice that heavy stuff costs more?
Anyway I ordered dog food topped it up with BOGOF beer to get £9 off a shop - anyway they delivered and some of the dog food was substituted so I sent it back and I noticed no money off and the beer BOGOF hadn't worked so I sent the beer back too. Anyway I rang them up and they honoured the £9 off but seeing as I had sent the beer back and some of the dog food I ended up with £9 off a £30 shop lol0
