  • Hello,

I've finally got mine set up with CCCS. Could I please have a number?

Once I get home, I'll change my signiture and let everyone see the damage!

Still waiting for the storm to come, not a single letter yet, I sent token payments at the end of August, and am making my first payment to CCCS at the end of sept, so creditors will get money in late oct. I think this means I may have 2 defaults for each creditor? Dunno how it'll pan out. I'll just clutch my hat and keep my head down.

    Added you number 237.

Just a note about defaults, you should only get one default per account and the earlier you get them the better, the quicker they drop off your history. I think companies are within their rights (could be wrong here) to apply another default 6 years late if the account is still open but it very rarely happens.
  • Thanks Rayday, and thanks to everyone for giving me the umph and courage to go and get my DMP started.

I've just logged into my various creditors accounts.

Strangely, Virgin credit card and my balance says 0.00, but a 'LST credit transfer'. This is either a transfer onto another card number (as I recently reordered a new card as I lost the previous one) or to a debt collection agency. If the later, that is really hasty as I haven't heard anything from them yet. All speculation. I should stop getting my knickers in a twist.

Tesco won't let me log in at all, and egg and hsbc still look normal. But none showing the token payments I made.

  • Sorry to keep flooding the forum, but I have another quandry.

I am tied into an orange contract that I don't use at all (after a freak £200 bill of data charges). Its £25 per month, and I've got over a year left on it.

If I'm getting defaults anyway for my DMP shortly, do you think you can just say to a contract phone provider that you afford it anymore and ask to have a default? Or do I risk really ballsing up my credit record and face court etc?

I already have a default on a payment with them 6 months ago when I had this silly bill, and went on a repayment plan with them. Or, whilst I'm paying each month on time with a DD, I'm getting green ticks on my credit rating. ummm.

    What to do.

  • Hi and welcome to all the new people

Sorry I haven't been on in a few days and haven't read back either. Been very busy. I'm back now though.

Oh and a wee success story from me. Had a letter from Egg today. They are paying my credit charges in full £220 + £33.84 interest. :jump:

I am not sure what to do re Orange, I haven't had a contract phone for years, ever since I discovered I had no friends :rotfl:

Have you ever tried ringing Orange and explaining the financial mess you are in and seeing if they can lower it for you or revert the account to PAYG?
  • I've noticed on some of my accounts that the £1 token payment I sent them has been cashed. Does this mean that they are accepting the fact that we are now on a dmp or are they just glad to have any money rather than none? I have a vague thing in my mind that the creditor will send the PO back if they're not going to accept the offer... Or am I talking a complete load of tosh? LOL!
