Can anyone find the new fair use policy. I saw it on my NJP login on Sunday but it has since disappeared. I had a quick scan through it and I'm sure it said streaming video was not permitted! That means no BBC iPlayer, youtube, etc... Fatcat say our contract has not changed but surely banning something everyone(?) does is going to mean they can easily restrict our internet access?

    What do you think?

I cannot login to NJP any more since I left I just get invalid messages, but before anyone agrees to fatcats offer, please take the time to read the T&C's carefully, the things that use bandwidth heavily are the streaming video, which will be what screwed RT, so I would not be in the least surprised to find it excluded in new T&C's, the other things to look for are little niceties that say that, in the event of circumstances beyond their control, they reserve the right to change the T&C (without notice) and or move the customer to another provider; if a customer is considered to be abusing the fair usage agreement their speed may be restricted, (20kb/s download speed renders the service useless), and any other clause which could possibly be construed to restrict your service or rights.

I will guarantee that Clodes lawyers will have put loads of get out of jail free clauses in the T&C's, according to the solicitor I was using before I escaped, there were a few in RT new T&C's.

You can give them all the chances you want, I would rather stick red hot needles in my eyes, they may answer their phones but you try to get to speak to anyone who may be able to help!

    Sorry not in today...
    Out to lunch I'm afraid....
Will get him to call you back....
    not in until Wednesday.........
    Gone home for the day.....

Are but a few of the platitudes for plebs that were used to me, and I am sure everyone else.

To be fair they are better than Redten, but it is a little like saying Hitler was better than Attila the Hun, or the Yorkshire Ripper is better than Jack the Ripper, it is a question of degree.

The only reason Clode started Fatcat, was to minimise their losses, and if in the future that means dumping the punter elsewhere, then it will be a case of so be it. They will do the minimum necessary to avoid big losses, and the further from March it gets the less they will have to do.

You have been warned, get out, if and while you can.

As for registering my details I don't think I would be welcome somehow, hope I don't lose too much sleep over it.

And yes I know DONT FEED THE TROLLS Sorry but I couldn't let it pass without comment

Here Here!!!!. It may have been hassle and stress for the past few months, but I can take positives out of it - experience!

    I have learn't:

Don't sign up to a service funded via a credit company and -

Don't touch anything linked to the Jessa's with a bargepole and -

I didn't pay anything to get released from Clode - although I did keep the DD going so I made 3 payments since the walled garden in March which I want back off them, plus a £90 mobile phone bill due to data charges for when I had no internet and also £30 for the acquisition of a new broadband provider.

I've just checked moneyclaim and it says Clode have defended and it has now been passed to court for continuation as they dispute the whole amount. What should I do now? Wait for them to contact me and continue it or contact Clown and get them to pay up?

you will get a copy of their defencse in the post, If I was you I would let it continue to court as they don't have a leg to stand on, chances are though that if you contact them they will almost certainly want to make a deal, just make sure it's in your favour, after all you have done nothing wrong, they have..

Okay - I've now cancelled my DD and told Clode also informed them that I am still awaiting my MAC code (cc'd OFCOM too) and cancellation of service. I will also be sending an daily email to Nick, Niciola and OFCOM to Query the state of play with my Account and also to chase my MAC code.
I have also fired an email to FATCAT askign for a copy of theier T&C and the Fair Use Policy.

is their any mention on the letters from Fatcat as to who they will be using as a backbone provider ? I remember a while back NJP saying they would not supply an unlimited service, can't believe Fatcat / Clode would pay for the additional downloads on those accounts that go over NJP's MAX service every month

Good god. Yet another internet company at the same address. Do they think we're stupid?

I have been giving serious thought to setting up a website to encourage a culture of complaining, and generally being a thorn in the side of rip off Merchants such as this. I suspect the ongoing Clode/RT/NJP thing will be a goldmine of content. But this Fatcat thing seems like a spectacularly cynical attempt to squeeze cash out of a dire problem.

    More details soon.
