Great Cross Cut Shredder Hunt

Options
Everyone should have a shredder, for financial documents. It's the best way to stop someone stealing your identity (see full article on how to get free ID fraud prevention). Cross-cut shredders are the best type as they mash it up.

The current record is £13.86 at Asda. If you've found cheaper reply to this thread.

Well not quite but I got an offer from https://www.grattan.co.uk.

Use code ZD67 when you order something (cheap thong anybody?) and get a document shredder.

No idea what its like but I ordered one with one of the mis-priced toothbrushes!

Staples were selling some at £9.99, Woolworths £14.99
  • Anybody who hasn't got one is at risk - just post all your secret papers to me and I'll shred them for you (credit card statements a speciality :D )

There are shredders and there are shredders, most of the cheap ones are made of flimsy plastic that fall apart with constant use (and we all constantly and diligently use one don't we?). The BEST BUY yet has to be TESCO's own, at £9.99. This is a top shredder which you put over your bin, but it is robust, weighty and substantially made. I've bought the cheap ones and they don't cope with my heavy demands, but this has to be the best buy yet. You can also put a piece of A4 in at an angle or even three at a time and it copes admirably.

I have a straight cut shredder at home but it does not compact down nearly as well as my cross cut at work - apart from the obvious added security - so the idea of a freebie was most appealing. However when I put the code in as suggested by zcaprd7 I was told "sorry, you haven't won a prize this time". Any suggestions?

Please Sir whats the difference between a crosscut and a '??????' ?

Mine came from MAKRO cash & carry @£6.50 + VAT = £7.64., sits over bin is heavy and cuts whichever direction you put paper in (like I fold A4 inhalf first!!!)

While I'm on can someone please explain what 'lol' is that keeps appearing on postings?

Ok, perhaps not the best for 'moneysaving', but for £11 more than the Asda one you can get a Fellowes cross-cut shredder from Argos for £25.

I got one last year and it is great - it has never jammed on me, it can handle staples, up to four folded A4 sheets at a time and sits nicely on my desk.

It can also shred credit cards without a problem - I would thoroughly recommend it!

The catalogue number is 671/9388, but have someone to carry it for you as it weighs a ton! (You could always use Nectar points to pay for it!)

    Waddle you do eh?
