1. These terms and conditions apply to the £100 Online Cash Offer. Participation in this offer is deemed acceptance of them.
2. This offer is only available to non-Barclays personal current account holders who open a Barclays Bank Account ('new account') online.
3. This offer is not available to Barclays staff or members of the Barclays Group.
4. The account must be opened within one month of fully completing the Barclays Bank Account application form online.
5. Once the new account has been credited with £1,000 or more each month for the first two consecutive months after account opening, the new customer will be eligible to receive £100. Only one £100 will be payable to the new account opened and only one new account may be opened under the terms of this offer. The new customer's account will be credited with £100 within 28 days of the 2nd monthly payment of £1,000 or more being paid into the new account.
6. If a new account is not opened or funded as required by the terms and conditions of this offer, the new customer will not be eligible for the £100.

This is incorrect.
You can register a complaint on the 0500 number, make sure they register it as a complaint and they give you a time within which you'll get a response.0 -
Took my proofs of ID and pre-filled details form into local branch yesterday.
Counter staff clueless. Told I would have to wait 15 mins for Personal Banker to be free. Then went into her office to open the account. She carefully scrutinised the letter and the form, but very obviously hadn't seen any of these previously.
She entered the ref number from the bottom of the pre-filled form into her PC. Found my record but couldn't get into it to continue it.
 She actually tried ringing the 0500 number in the welcome letter for advice!!!
When she (eventually) got through, she was asked to re-dial another 0845 number. After another wait, she gave up! Then suggested she started another application instead. I said that I did not want another search to appear on my credit reference file, so she persevered with the original application and managed to progress that by "doing it another way".
I did not mention the £100 because, quite frankly, she had no idea about the procedure and had clearly not had any of these letters/forms before.
Assuming I get my £100, I will be cancelling this account IMMEDIATELY and taking the money and running as far from Barclays as possible!!! :rotfl:0 -

Isn't that we'll all be doing? It's what I would have done in any case, even if their 'service' and 'on line' offerings weren't so appalling.0 -
May I suggest that anyone who has problems and has to go to a Branch re the account opening takes a copy of the terms and conditions with them and insists that they sort out any queries within these terms.
Don't be afraid to ask for anything in writing that you are not happy with...you'll be surprised how quickly people will either change their mind or become more helpful when they realise they are not dealing with just any old "Joe Public".
I phoned 0500 and was told application accepted and in post. Sent it back yesterday signed as requested and await further response. chap on 0500 even told me how to secure £100 without me aking!Andyboy :idea:0 -

May be their new Regular Saver, rumoured to be announced on Feb 13, will be attractive enough to keep the current account open.0 -
Maybe it will ,but they have done so much damage by their response when they realised it was all going wrong, some will not be intersted,it will have to be a wonderful offerTo be happy you need to make someone happy.0

I had the e-mail with my membership number today so I guess the other guff must be in the Royal Mail.
Wife never had the membership-no.-Email but was able to register for Ebanking once her connect card arrived & was able to use the info on that. [See next post...]Expect the worst & hope for the best...0 -
....and Wife's £1001 electronic payment has now cleared into her Barclays online account today -- and £1000 has immediately been paid out electronically again ! (well, within "at least 3 working days" anyway...)Expect the worst & hope for the best...0

Barclays are now bending over backwards. Had 'phone call followed by letter from Customer Relations Manager after logging complaint on the 0500 number. Had already been into branch and finished opening ac with personal banker. Deposited £1000 in cash. He assured me that application would still count as online. Customer Relations also said that as long as I fulfilled all other criteria, I would still be eligible for £100.0
