i have just e-mailed the man at dvla asking him to investigate why my details were given to tnc on behalf of a non asos member
Make sure you follow it through, and tell them of the recent letter. They were supposed to stop acting for non AOS members and writing to the people they had already contacted and reimbursing anyone who had paid.
By the way after I received the email from DVLA I forwarded it to the BPA asking what actions they would be taking, no response so far. Now why am I not surprised!0 -

hi had a reply from d dunford at the dvla in a nutshell yes the data protection act was breached and they apologise all invoices from car parking and select services should be cancelled t.n.c have had their knuckles rapped and should now contact people who have been givien a ticket by c.p.s.s
as yet not had any contact from t.n.c personally had another demand for payment today 5/9/12 from t,n,c told them if they did not stop these letters i would take them to court for harrassment the guy said well pay your bill then i then told him about the d.v.l.a ruling he said they had not heard anything about it and as far as they were concerned i still had to pay0 -
If I were you I would make a complaint about the DVLA's breach of the DPA to the Information Commissioner's Office.

When you start your new thread please give the precise details of this company's name. Despite what the BPA has told you there are a number of PPCs with 'CPS' in their title. We need to be sure they are or are not BPA members; trust us probably to get this more right than the BPA.
If you've got a full title, an address, website these will help us give you more information. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Came back to fine on Window £70 to pay within week or £120! Can only pay via cheque. Is car parking select services. Seems unreasonably high. What should I do? Thanks0

The link is also at the top of the forum. As is the Newbies thread, which you will need to read carefully and take a little time to understand the issues etc.

I don't think this outfit is a member of either the BPA or IPC AOS (I've checked both lists of operators and can't find any reference). They therefore should not be able to get your details from the DVLA, and if they can't get them, they can do nothing further.
So the advice is - make absolutely no contact with them, see if anything turns up through your letterbox.
Here's a previous thread on this lot - have read.
