carparking and select services ltd fine???

i have just got back to car 17 minutes late (paid £6 parking fee) to find penalty notice for £120 or £70 if paid within 7 days
Help!!!! i dont want to pay this but worried about consequences
the company is carparking & select services Ltd
it asks for cash or cheque payment wont take debit or credit card
They are based 21 chester street mansfield ng19 6ng
Can anyone give advice please
