As far as I know, AOS members can only pass on details obtained from the DVLA to other AOS members. So if they weren't members of the BPA (and hence weren't an AOS then yes, I would have thought someone somewhere has breached something here.

The debt collector is breaching the good old BPA Code of Practice so they should be reported to the BPA just to notch up yet another valid complaint. Not that the BPA will do anything except log it.

It is mentioned in post #7 on this pepipoo thread:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=71286

''15.3 You must not act as an agent to get data from the DVLA
and pass it to a third party (for example a landowner or
agent), unless that third party is a member of an ATA that
    is recognised by the DVLA.''

  • just received a letter from TNC for an unpaid parking enforcement notice!
asking me to call their collections centre ASAP to pay :j

    er......i don't think so!!!!

i have 14 days to settle this or if the notice is challenged then all costs will be placed on hold subject to the outcome ( suppose this is to get me to call and admit it was me in the car!!!! )

Anyone got to the next stage???

Also the letter from TNC has the BPA logo, so i presume these guys got the details from the DVLA!

    keep ignoring.........
  • did you get any more mail from them bikesteve???

Sorry didn't make it clear I meant who sent the first postal invoice, but having read back I see it was TNC.
So it looks like TNC have obtained your details.
Time for more questions to BPA & DVLA me thinks!
