However!!!!!!!! My original claim, using the MSE template letter, was for myself, my partner, and our two children. It seems the claim has been treated in respect of myself only.
Therefore, I intend to make new individual claims for the other travellers (sent in their names obviously), based upon my claim having been successful.
Just wondering if there's anything I should be aware of in respect of the children's claims, not least in that receiving a cheque in their names is a bit of an issue as presently they don't have their own bank accounts.
Hi LeedsViking.
I have had the usual responses from JET2 over the last 9 months and I am ready to submit a claim to the Smaal Claim Court. Before I do this, could you let me know when your flight was delayed and when you first contacted JET2. I may then decide to delay may claim just in case (I know its a long shot) JET2 may decide to pay me.
Thanks

This 'defence' is cropping up quite frequently, in what may be one of the last gasps of the 'unexpected technical problem' family.
Rather than going to the CAA, which now seems pointless since they refuse to reply, could claimants not go to the airlines along the lines of 'You say there was a hidden defect so presumably filed a report. I would like to see a copy please'?
Since the airlines only thought of this at the last minute there will be no report in the majority of cases.0 -

The CAA will tell you if an MOR exists. But neither they or the airline will provide a copy. So you will have to get the court to make them, more expense.
In my case, I submitted an MOR myself as the airline hadn't. Which prompted the airline to submit their own - four years after the event. But I still can't get hold of a copy to see the details of the one they submitted. Which is fine as they can't use it in their defence unless they disclose it to me.0 -
Uh? I...won? Without going to court!
So. After receiving the exact same letter as last time - including the same previous date. I asked my daughter to go ahead and tweet Jet2 and remind them of everything that was going on. She tweeted pretty much relentlessly - asking them why they were ignoring the rulings and (later on), why they were ignoring my daughters tweets about the subject.
Today, I received a phone call from Jet2. They'd seen the tweets and they've "had a rethink" about the situation. They're now going to pay both my husband and I the compensation we deserve.
I am completely stunned.0 -

Very interesting - I wonder if the fact that it's on Twitter and can be seen by the general public makes them respond more favourably?0 -
Hi
After getting no joy from JET2 I am starting the small claims court process. Can anybody give me any pointers on what on what wording to put in my submission.
How much information do you need to put?
Do I need to mention the numerous letters too and from JET2?
Do I mention about response from Spanish CAA and European directive?
Which is the best court to use? (I live in the North East). A local court or a court elsewhere in the country that specialises in flight delays?
Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Don't go into too much detail, you'll do that on your witness statement if it gets that far.
