Entirely up to you. Have you received a letter from United in addition to the vouchers? If so, does it say these are being offered as a gesture of goodwill with no admission of liability, or are these given in recognition of your claim? The Regulation is very clear that you can be paid in cash if you wish it, so if they have acknowledged your claim (and given the sum of the voucher, it seems likely they have) it should be a straightforward matter to get the money.0

it says "although cash compensation is not applicable in this case under the regulation 261, we certainly recognise your plans were affected in appreciation of your patience for your extraordinary delay we enclose travel vouchers ?im not sure if that is an admission or not ?0

Doesn't sound like an admission to me.
If part of your claim is for a delay flying with United from New York to the UK then that definitely isn't covered. The United flight from Europe could be eligible provided you arrived more than 3 hours late and the delay was no caused by "extraordinary circumstances". Do you know the reason for the delay?0 -
yea the reason was that captain called in sick and united only allow an American pilot to fly their planes and there was no stand in which means I was 9 hours delayed missed a day in newyork on my honeymoon and had to catch 2 planes to eventually get there.
should I accept the vouchers for the return journey then as I cant claim cash as I was delayed from newyork to uk also for 4 hours due to them not scheduling a captain for the flight .. UNITED are s**t clearly x0 -
Fletchasketch wrote: »Hello,
Just wondering if anybody else has a pending claim with Ryanair via Bott & Co which had previously been stayed due to the 2 year limitations issue.
It's my understanding from Bott & Co that claims with Ryanair are being stayed pending the outcome of the KLM case which relates to extraordinary circumstances.
What I don't understand is the justification for also staying the cases which are over 2 years old.
Any ideas?
Hey, just to keep you updated- Bott & Co have replied to say that the claims that are over 2 years old are not being stayed. Have responded to see what that means for Ryanair 2+ years claims, will keep you posted.May'18 DEBT FREE!

Well claims were getting stayed in the court system because of the Thomson, Dawson case which related to the 2 year challenge. The Supreme Court have now ruled on the matter and the ruling has been confirmed as 6 years, so YES all stays relating to Dawson should be lifted, Jet2 and Van Der Lans is another matter.

Very interesting - including to see what they reckon Bott's profit margins are. It's not big bucks, really, is it?0

Interesting article about Bott I specifically like this bitThe idea for the practice came from a solicitor at the firm who tried to bring a claim himself and received a 12-page letter in response from the airline.
Whoever sent that 12-page response must be feeling in need of some TLC right nowAfter reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!
