WTheir only response has been by a text saying there is an update to our "help request" on their website that we don't have access to!

    Interesting - keep us updated!

Just spoke to sky as my O2 broadband contact ends on 23rd of Jan. I am with BT for the landline and have already paid advance line rental for the whole year in Sept 2013. I pay £4.75 to O2.
So the person offered me £5/month broadband. The thing which concerns me was that he said on my line I would get speeds upto 2.5 MB/s but on my current o2, I never go below a speed on 6-7 MB. My current speed is 14 MB which I told him.
His answer was that may it is giving me a figure for the people who are at the farthest end in my area. He said sky would never cap or slow you down, which I doubt.
So still not sure if moving to sky would be a good idea.
My options are limited as I have paid the advance line rental to BT. I would give BT a call and see what they offer... not hoping much from them.
    Any suggestions please...
    Thank you
I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T

No they didn't. If they did, I would have definitely taken up the deal.

Give them a ring back....maybe on a different number because it does make a difference who you speak to..there were a couple of numbers posted on this thread somewhere
Between £50 & £75 credit seems to be the norm for just bb with no line rental:beer:

Thank you. Called again and spoke to another adviser and he couldn't offer me any credit but after speaking to his manager offered me £40 credit on 12 month deal of unlimited BB at £5/month. So I would be paying only £20 for the whole year of broadband (not bad). He said that his manager says, the £75 credit is only for exceptional circumstances.
I am happy with that. And when he checked the speeds he quoted me speeds of 11 to 16 MB. I will be happy even if am getting my current speeds.
    Thank you

Well I finally got around to giving them a call. Their initial offer (BB only) was £5pm and a new router. I asked about the possibility of credit, and on checking with his manager I was offered £20. I pointed out that I'd heard others had been offered £75, so he asked the manager again and I was then offered £75 too.

I'll think about it over the weekend, but it sounds pretty reasonable to me.

I posted earlier this week as I was one of the o2 customiers on a years free broadband and wondered what would happen when this ended. A day after doing so I received a welcome to sky email but no mention of prices so I emailed them explaining I was on a years free broadband due to expire in March 2014 so how could I cancel from that date.

They have emailed me back and stated that I was now a Sky customer from 8 Jan and a years free broadband was activated on that day, to expire on 8 Jan 2015!

When Sky refer to "free broadband" they use weasel words! So get this confirmed.

The BB they call "free" doesn't necessarily mean you don't have anything to pay.

They charge you £5/month unless you have their phone line, and £2.50/month if you don't have Sky TV.

Thus it could be the "free BB" actually costs £7.50/month.
