Plus if you have vouchers for 75p off comfort pure from Emma's diary/bounty (can't remember which packs they came in), those vouchers are accepted on this so makes a bottle only £2.25!

    Good luck hopelass! :D

Nice pic & lovely name continual :) if you've tried bf'ing (can't remember your preference now), how's that been going, with a c section etc too, if you don't mind my asking? :o

Eta: COMP, you're as bad as me ;) hope you get some sleep though, it's draining being awake when all you know you really need is some zzzzzz's

Bf has gone really well. Scarlett has her favourite side so I got shown some tips on how to get her onto the other b which worked thank goodness as was obviously getting sore on one side. She didn't like being shown what to do as in the nipple forced to her, she wanted to find it on her own she had the right idea making the mouthing actions to find it. So I did have to give her time which I found difficult cos she was crying but she did it in th end.

Re c section, I haven't been in loads of pain if anything best advice I have is listen to the midwifes and if they advise certain pain killers take them even if you're not on that much pain as what they said to me was its far easier to manage on mild pain than wait until it's worse to then ask for pain killers and have to wait for them to kick in.

Continualdiamond & Lozza - your little girls are so beautiful and I love those names. Excited to have my baby very soon too! X

Kerri - no, not the deadly nightshade family. Citrus is 10x worse for her as it's too acidic for her digestive system but also any watery fruits; melons/pineapples/grapes etc. Hospital did hope she would grow out of it but she hasn't. X

I highly recommend omeprazole for heartburn. It's allowed me to get a really good nights sleep and no heartburn whatsoever.

What doesn't help is when hubby says "just try and sleep". So that's where I've been going wrong - I've not been trying!! And when I do finally drop off, I wake up soon after with heartburn. Ho hum.

I think the main reason I don't post so often is I don't like to sound like I'm moaning about everything. Honestly, all things considered I've not had such a bad pregnancy - I have hypermobility (not syndrome) so I've been very, very fortunate not to have had major issues with my pelvis etc.
I know the feeling! This pregnancy (& baby ;)) have been a long time coming and I certainly am grateful for every minute, even if it is a minute filled with insomnia-fueled joint & nerve pain accompanied heartburn ;) however, if I could be without the unpleasantness that would suit just fine :p I love being pregnant, but my conditions with no drugs allowed are no joke sometimes - makes me almost wish my next 3 months away and just have him/her here, but actually I think part of that is just fear/dread of how much worse it will/could/might get, especially in winter...:o Ho hum indeed ;) plus, MiniZee doesn't have any names picked out yet, or the right bolts for the cot bed (roll eyes), so I'm clearly not that ready....yet ;)
It's ok, I think we all have a good moan on here at times. Currently awake with horrendous heartburn, could just cry :( would really like some sleep.
Hope you managed to get some sleep :o I had a night a couple of weeks ago like that, felt awful from the front of my ribs through to my spine

Yay, glad it's going well :D I get a bit ...concerned? when the only tales I end up hearing are the more negative ones. Don't get me wrong, I find them useful too - they prepare me for the fact that it might not 'just come naturally' etc, but you'd always like to hear the reassuring stories too ;)

How much has your OH been allowed to be there? Part of my concerns about going into hospital for the birth are that once it's born, if I have to stay in (which I hate the idea of), I'll be stranded for sort of 20 hrs a day with a newborn, while not physically up to much myself... :o

Hope everything's going well Hopelass :)

A combination of dh's alarms (I swear I've never slept this lightly), bladder fullness and MiniZee kicks woke me up at sparrow's fart o'clock, then of course I got hungry ;) Hopefully I'll be able to drop off again for a bit, soon-ish, before caving in to the day :)

    Hi folks

Can I ask, do any of you know if there is a new thread for 12 to 24 weeks pregnant? Someone has closed the usual one.

Otherwise I may have to jump up to this big thread a little early :)

It's here Faith. :) Not impressed with the overzealous board guide for just closing threads and restarting them without any warning! :p

Just remembering a few things from hypnobirthing last night that I didn't know before and thought I'd share them in case someone else also didn't know.- you don't have to have an internal examination upon arrival, it assists the MW's to know how far you have progressed and then they like you to follow a predicted chart, if you aren't following it then you get hurried up by them. However, all women labour differently some fast some slow, and some women go from 1cm to baby in 10 minutes
    - Your body is likely to naturally tell you what position is best for you to labour in, the MW might tell you to change position to a position that isn't optimum for your body but you can tell her no.
    - You can say no to the vitamin K injection for baby, I need to research into this as I didn't even know they gave it to babies or why.
    - They might like to monitor baby for 20 minutes when you first come in, but from then on they can monitor equally well with a doppler so you don't need to be strapped to a bed on your back.
    - The white stuff baby is born covered in is really beneficial to their skin and we were told it's best to leave it on baby and not wipe it off unless baby has done a poo. It's meant to help against infections. The earlier baby is the more there is of this cheese like substance (forget the name).
    - Type up copies of your birth plan and give them to MW's / Dr's that come in so they know your wishes.
    - If you want people to be quiet when they come in, then it's perfectly fine to put a note on the door :)
    - Dad can deliver baby! This was the big one and we are really considering it, the delivery of baby doesn't have to be done by a midwife all they are doing is assisting and you don't need to be trained to do this. I thought you could just cut the cord, but now knowing my OH can deliver our little girl I'm going to ask for this.
    - You can ask the delivery unit in advance to review your birth plan (if possible) to check that they are happy with what is on there, this saves disappointment. For instance some won't allow you a water birth after 11 days overdue, so best to know in advance :)

At the hospital I went to, derby, dads could be there from 8am-10pm for visiting it was only other visitors that were restricted more. Think it's the same even if you've had a c section. Mind you, on the bay I was in my Dh was the only one who came at 8am the other dads had a lie in and then came.

Haha yes some women progress quickly, I went from 0 to baby in about an hour and a half, second stage of labour was about 18minutes according to my notes I didn't believe the mw at the time when she said baby was nearly out as I was thinking it would take me hours.
