You've linked to the TTC thread. Did you mean to link to the 12-24 weeks thread which has just been locked?Mortgage when started: £330,995

Awwww, and now I've lost the post I was just trying to put on old thread. *stamps feet*
Anyhoo you just missed my eating a sausage bap which was lovely
Just worked out that I'm only working to the 17th Feb and then its 9-12 months mat leavejust need to figure out the best way to use my holiday.
You know that they say that 18 degrees is an ideal temperature for baby's room, is it just me or does that feel really cold?! We bought a Dreampod sleeping bag thingy and it came with a thermometer so popped it in the baby's room to see how warm it was (since we don't have the radiator cranked up in there it's not as warm as the rest of the flat) and it's 18 but feels way too cold, I wouldn't be happy sleeping in there!
We've always stuck to the 18 degrees for DS's room and he loves it - is quite happy to be naked most the time actually :rotfl: You never know Birdie you might get a baby that runs hot too and then they are very useful as hot water bottles
Plus its much easier to warm a chilly baby by more blankets but cooling them down is another matter!Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

I had a lovely maternity leave the first time around. It is hard work, especially at the beginning with the lack of sleep, but you also don't have the 9-5 job meaning you have to squeeze all the chores into the weekends. I'm really looking forward to doing it again... although I think it may be a little different this time around with a 2 year old as well!
We make sure it doesn't fall below 17 degrees for DD1's bedroom. It does feel cool, but when they're covered with a sleeping bag / blankets, it's about right. It was 19o last night and I popped her in a heavy sleeping bag (in anticipation of it cooling down overnight). 30 mins later and she summoned me back upstairs to proclaim "hot, mummy!".
In other news, I had my 16 week midwife appt this morning and got to hear baby's heartbeatIt's so reassuring.

Oooh/Urgh New thread. I'm so picky I don't like how the word 'thread' is missing and it's not all capitalised!
Thanks for the advice SmlSave and Lannie, we're realising just how clueless we are and it's good to hear other people's experiences! It just feels so cold to me but I'm always cold. That said, every baby I've held has been really hot and felt quite sweaty after a 10 minute cuddle so they must run warmer than I do!We can always turn the heat up a notch at a time if baby does seem a bit chilly or layer up with blankets like you say.
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
In 19c I would be covered in goose pimples. I guess ill just have to see how it goes, but as soon as the winter is gone it's rarely cold in our house. Might need an air con unit for the summer our bedroom got up to around 29c this summer.
Why all the new threads I thought the ppl who write on them start them so that they can edit the front page etc?0 -

We are trying to get DS to fall asleep without holding my hand atm which is proving hard work! Thanks for the advice SmlSave and Lannie, we're realising just how clueless we are and it's good to hear other people's experiences!
You should have seen me when DS was newthere was much frantic googling at 3am to see if baby's should sweat when they sleep!

Birdie I've been reading a few books about the subject, whilst I've got a niece and there's always been a baby somewhere in the family, it's completely different taking one home and having no one to hand them to when you can't figure out what to do! lol
I've got Penelope Leach 'The Essential First Year' and I've read the supernanny one as well.
I've not really bothered with pregnancy books as I've figured my body knows what it's doing taking care of baby, but once it's my turn i need to know how often to wash her etc lol so they're good for giving confidence, or at least i think so right now! lol
Left hip is so so sore today, can only walk without pain by leaning to the right when i walk so i look very special indeed lolLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6
