Hello there, I know it's a long shot in the dark :-) but does anyone
have a will that is just gathering dust? My mum wants to use it for her
Zumba exercise.
That annoys me immensely, 'gathering dust'. Even if I had a spare wii it wouldn't be bloody dusty.
As for your Mother, point her in the direction of her local community center where most do free, or nominal fee Zumba classes.0 -

I got told by 1 person they had one that I could BORROW. but it was their child's favourite possession so I MUST give it back when I had finished with it.
Politely declined that one!!!
Why?
I think thats very generous offering to lend you something thats important to their childVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -

Wanted: Bimbo chair
:rotfl:
LOL!
Someone near me wants a saxophone. Have you seen how much they cost? If I had one I wasn't using, I wouldn't be giving it away. But I'm kinda hoping there's a rich person who will give them one!
I find them so entertaining, I actually find myself putting:
Freecycle + "long shot"
or
Freecycle + "gathering dust"
or
Freecycle + "long shot" + "gathering dust"
into Google, so I can go straight to them!
As much as I love the outrageous Wanted ads, some of the Offers can be unbelieveable too.
We've had people trying to get rid of their Shredding - I kid you not - "for packaging"!
Then there's the woman who regularly fobs us all off with her USED toiletries!! - and then asks for "polite emails only" - clearly she's had people tell her where to go before, lol!
There's an old chest/trunk that's been advertised several times. Not surprising as it: "has quite a bit of rust"
We've currently got one today offering "6 cups and saucers - white with gold edge"
So China then! - aww bless.Look at it this way... In a hundred years who's gonna care?0 -

toddler + party ....... can you imagine what would happen if he spilt something?? (plus if it's the same woman i think it is "I get stuff free then sell it 2 days later) she'll probaby find a mark on it that was already there and charge me a small fortune to replace it.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

Hello Jenny,
Thank you for the article, here are a few comments:
First the link to the page - thats a Freecycle page - shouldn't it be no specific?
I.E.
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/reuse-groupsand the big names are Freecycle.org and Freegle.
It should be "and the big names are Freecycle and Freegle. "Report your freecycle successes
They should be to freecycle.org and http://www.ilovefreegle.org/groups/ as these are the find a group pages.(Freecycle lets people post 'wanted' ads, which can get annoying).Yet never, ever, use your normal email addressTo ramp up your chances, also join bordering areas - especially if they're swanky
Not join all of the groups that surround you. (the mods can tell you know).Offering a freebie couldn't be easier. Just start an email with the title OFFERED in capitals letters. Then put the item name of the item and the first part of the postcode in brackets, eg, "OFFERED: Grand piano (SW16)".Then just send the email to your Freecycle group's email address, eg, Enfield_Freecycle@yahoogroups.comie, "TAKEN Grand piano SW16".Ask if it's worth it
You could also put inYou can always say "NO", if you arrive to collect something and it is not as described then you can simply say "no thank you - please give it to someone else", you do not have to take it.
RE Freegle using Facebook, more and more members are joining up using this access now as they can do it via their mobile phones.
Hopefully in time to come the article will evolve to mentioning the British site before the US one.
Thanks for the article Jenny. :T :T :T0 -

That's a pretty comprehensive guide.01
Freecycle is not just merely a source of freebies. The spirit is that it's a recycling community, so you should give, as well as get.02
There can be some incredible finds...0 -

Offered: Bottom half and legs of adult mannequin
Annoyingly, because I really want to know now, no text included to explain what happened to the top half and arms!
Maybe these half missing mannequins are taking over the world :rotfl:Male shop dummy on base, headless, and missing one hand.
Saw the above which reminded me of the previous offer that was posted on the thread :T0 -
I saw one of our freecycle group the other day saying: wanted: 32 inch tv, has to be a flatscreen one as I don't want a fat back one, oh and I can't drive so you'll have to bring it over.
I seriously wondered if it was a joke :eek:0 -
