lol - someone else fed up with the ever increasing high value wants
I started collection thingds for my glory box when I was 14 and decided that I would 1 day want to move out of home.

Over the next years, I had accumulated most of the things I'd need. I'd even managed to upgrade from the charity shop-bought items to brand new ones.

Now I am ready to move out of home- if anyone is selling a house cheap, or better- giving one away for free, I'd appreciate it. S6, S17 or S18 would be ideal, but I'll settle for anywhere.

As I don't have a lot of money, if people could offer to pay my bills, that would be swell.

Oh, I can't afford to buy a car, so if anyone is giving one of those away- must be working condition and MOT'd for at least 11 months.

    Thanks for looking.

  • Funny someone mentions an SLR camera. I offered one on freecycle a while back, a Pentax P30N.

This young guy arrives to collect it and he asked what type of memory card it used. I said it uses 35mm film, that it wasn't digital, it didn't need a card. "Cool" he says. "Where's the USB port". It doesn't need one of them either, I said, it uses photographic film.

He had this most puzzled expression on his face as I explained what film was. That you buy it in the shops, pop it in the post to the laboratory and wait a week or two for your photographs to come back.

    God I felt so old.

He didn't take it. It's still in the drawer. My Granny gave it me for my 18th birthday and even though it hasn't been used in over a decade, even though it's just a bit of clutter, it wasn't cheap and Granny must've gone without to pay for it. I think I'll just keep it.

I know they'll no doubt get a settee, but manners really don't cost anything.
I do hope they get the fabric one they'd prefer rather than having to have a leather one.
    WANTED: settee

I don't mind the wanteds, as there have been times when most of us could do with something & don't have the money to buy it.
It's the ones that read like a shopping list that get to me.
If you need something to sit on, then any settee should do.
I offered quite a lot of things last week, nothing of any value but could be useful to someone & surprisingly I only had one response that didn't have a please.
When I've offered things in the past that could be sold on, I've had numerous rude replies, "I want it will collect now", sort of responses.
They always get deleted, as do the sob stories.

Even for the people who can afford to buy the sofa they want but choose to use these groups for their purpose (keeping things out of landfill) first rather than going straight to the shops?
