  • We have purchased 4 items from Oakfurniture land - 3 were damaged and all had cracks in the wood!

    After hassle we sent photographs for proof of damage - we eventually got a replacement only to find even bigger cracks in the replacement!!!

    We kept the damaged item.

    We recently purchased a matching coffee table all on-line as you cannot purchase any other way. The coffee table had 2 cracks and a damaged surface (One crack was 3mm!!) We were eventually refunded with lots of apolgies but nothing else.

    This company has real problems with their quality/inspection and delivery couriers

    The furniture looks great but I will not buy again as no confidence in their quality
  • What you see in a showroom isn't what you get delivered!!
  • Do not use them - very poor quality and delivery standards
  • Thanks everyone - was about to spend 2000 pounds + with this company but shall now avoid !

    We were going to spend close to £4000 with them but having seen these comment we are not bothering, its a pitty really has they look so good on website:(

    Their after sales service wriggled for ever until they found an excuse that they could exploit and turn down my claim for splitting wood in a table top.
    I will not be using them ever again.
  • I went to visit the Thurrock store yesterday and I'm so glad I didn't purchase anything after reading the the posts on here today!! I had seen the sideboards and tv unit online and just wanted to check they looked as good in reality as they did on their website. The mango furniture was stunning but I'll spend my money elsewhere after the disgusting customer service I've read about on here :(( I've had a lucky escape!
  • We bought some furniture earlier this year and were delighted with both the furniture, service and delivery.

    Today we have had our new and long saved for dinning table and 6 chairs left on our drive. No email or phone call to inform us of delivery. No two man delivery to the room of our choice. Just one man with a pallet delivery , which we specifically said we didn't want and would need to cancel our delivery unless two men could deliver our order. It is now dark and damp and our order is still on our drive. Customer services do not want to know as the delivery man 'told' my daughter who was the only person in to sign for the goods. We have no where to park our cars, no way of moving the delivery (it is very large and very heavy - I have had four spinal operations).

    So be very careful when ordering from this site, the website states - Free TWO man delivery to any room, with a guaranteed before Christmas delivery. Even after contacting before dispatch our wishes have been ignored and I now need to find a way to protect it or get it moved.

    A couple of years ago we ordered/received a Mantis Light Solid Mango Coffee Table. The packaging was quite damaged but the table itself was 99% ok - there was a tiny nick out of one corner but it actually didn't stand out given as it's a 'rustic' finish - so we kept it.

    We ordered/received a Mantis Light Solid Mango Lamp Table sometime later which had to be sent back as it wasn't suitable (no damage as far as I could tell). The returns process was made to be as awkward and difficult as possible and they wanted £60 for their courier to pick it up! I sent it back via my own courier at <£10 and after a letter before action (or something similar) I received a full refund. Actually I think I ended up sending it back to their RO at: JB Global Limited, Swatton Barn, Badbury, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN4 0EU.

    We now want a Mantis Light Solid Mango Nest of Tables but having read the last few pages (coupled with our own experiences) have decided against it. OakFurnitureLand.co.uk's customer service clearly leaves a lot to be desired.

    From what I can glean from searching around they really are a very basic cheap provider of these goods. Clearly no money (or very little) is invested is customer service.

    I think that if you go into a purchase from OakFurnitureLand.co.uk with your eyes open (meaning that if you have to return faulty/unsuitable items then you are likely to have a fight on your hands) then the cost/risk factor may be worth it to some.

    I am however, at least at the moment, unable and unwilling to put myself through the hassle of their ‘customer service’ and so for me the cost/risk factor is too high. I will therefore be looking elsewhere.

    Perhaps those still having problems should ask Phil Spencer (spokesman?) if he can sort them out.

    If anybody is looking for an alternative I've just got some NEW LARGE MANGO WOOD 2 NEST TABLES OAK DESIGNER CUBE from a dealer on Ebay. I have no affiliation to them but can state that the item is very nice, undamaged, was delivered quickly and was well priced. Unfortunately they do not (at least at the moment) seem to have the selection that OFL do.
