me too..............Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.0 -
With the Egg Money World MC, the interest-free period was up to 50 days, which in reality meant that the due date was always 50 - 31 = 19 days after the statement date.
My statements were always religiously dated 22nd, regardless of weekends. This meant that the due date would be the 10th or 11th, or in March 13/14th, depending on the length of the month. The due date was also unaffected by weekends.
In theory at least this could mean that if your due date fell on a Sunday they could take the DD on the Friday, but that would be OK if your payday was also moved forward from Sunday to Friday.
Barclaycard take account of weekends, so if the statement date + 19 lands on a weekend the due date is adjusted to Monday.
But here's the catch. If the statement date falls on a weekend, they date it earlier, but then they count the days from the adjusted statement date. So if your statement date is 13th, and 13th is a Sunday, they'll date the statement 11th and then the due date will be the 11 + 19 = 30th instead of 1st/2nd as expected."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0 -
On the subject of the DD date, since it looks like mine will now being taken 1 day earlier than the Egg DD was (makes no difference to me anyway) I went and checked the blurb again... In the welcome booklet (page 8) it actually says "payment due on or around the same date" so guess that's ok then
Accelerating my due date from the 1st to the 30th doesn't fit with my cash flows and I've registered a formal complaint.0 -
Ah, didn't see that one... Did you ask them to change it back to the 1st?Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0

The switchover has gone fairly smoothly for me, the only problem I've encountered so far is that my card won't work for paying at the petrol pump, it just comes up with a message saying "kiosk only". This is very irritating (although a minor problem compared to some) and I hope it's not going to be a permanent issue.0

I seem to be getting this on my last statement with a £1.31 charge alongside.
Has anyone else who pays in full every month? I have never paid interest with Egg of course.Interest On Your Standard Balance

Also has anyone who paid in full actually had the correct amount taken and no interest charged? It seems like all the DD's are borked from the reports on here.0 -

Could be that your card is a full authorisation only card. If this is true then it will never work at a pay at the pump terminal.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
