I still think that there should be a poll in the new year for and against the regulars board and if the majority of users want the Regulars board disbanded then the comps should be moved and put all in one place on the main board
I feel that it is very unlikely however that such a poll will take place and that the polls will only be about changes to the Regulars board
in my humble opinion polls about changes to the Regulars board should only take place after the question is asked do the vast majority of users want the Regulars board
maybe Glad can say whether there will be a poll in the New Year for and against the Regulars board0 -
Hey I have a little question and maybe someone can help me out. When I'm entering my address into competitions I get confused. Lets say the layout is as follows on the form -
Address -
Town -
County -
Post code- -
Do I just put in my road and house number in the section that says address because they ask for the rest of my address in the other areas? or do I put my whole address in the address section and just repeat myself when saying what town i live in etc.Wins in 2011 so far - 1 watch, £56 worth of Blue Nose Friends stuff, BullGuard Internet Security, Fifi & Roary goodie bags and DS game, 2 dvds, A-team football, 2 books

Just put your road and house number in the address part
duplicating parts of your address will only result in confusion for all involved

another good ideaperhaps the answer to all this is is not in changing where the comps go but in changing how we put the end date on comps when they are posted. Would it be possible for the owner of the thread to keep re-editing it with the new end date so that peeps who comp this way would not miss out.
Perhaps not - ignore that - probably 90% of the comps are posted by the same 30 or so peeps & they would need a 26 hr day to keep up
I still think the format of the end date could be changed in some way though to make it easier
Perhaps E: 31/12 (comps that must be entered by that date
31/12 (can be entrered every day till hogmanay if you are sober enough)
W: 00/00 (you could subscribe to these and would see if they are bumbed)
I know this isn't quite right but I am hoping someone runs with this till it looks better & then if we are having a poll it could be one of the options

No Boardguide is favouring me by giving the Advents a temp sticky, that's been the case for quite a few years with the Advents.
Daft statments like that cause friction on the boards, and yes there are advents on the main board because they need questions answered daily and it's easier to keep them in the same thread than scattered all across the advent thread.
Yes the advents cause chaos, they always do it's part of comp life in Dec, I have tried to organise it.
I'm gonna stay well away from any discussion infuture when it's just digs and assumptions, I'm really shocked that was said, because the mags haven't been given a sticky it's out of order the advents have ?!?!!?!!?
I'm gonna let that all go over my head as i'm here to comp,not get involved in this type of stuff.

it wasn't aimed at anyone,
it was said on here time & time again 'no more stickies'
i understand the advents have one every year, have been here long enough to know !!
so i wasn't 'having' a dig at anyone, only saying if there's to be no more stickies then it's contridicting what's said as the stickie went up, if there's to be rules then they keep being changed no wonder everyone is getting mixed up,
if you choose to take it personally then i'm sorry,
as far as i remember back peeps have been asking for a sticky for the mags postings/ITV comps/ etc for ages (back to last year even before) & it's always been the same reply 'no more stickies'
it was then suggested along with the fbook/twitter comps to help relieve the main board & i said i'd be willing to give it a go,
that was all.please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.

I will say that in the new year I'll look at this whole discussion again, try to collate peoples ideas and wants, come up with some suggestions and open it to further discussion

I took it personally because u stated bg's were favouring certain posters and then u mentioned why did the advents get a sticky over the other threads that had requested one.
How can they be favouring me if the advents always have a temp sticky? Putting no disrespect then stating that doesn't mean it can't be took in a negative light.
Yes the written word can be misinterpreted on a forum as no-one can see the tone it is written in, I understand that.
And yes i do believe it was aimed at me as you brung up the advents.
Future stickies are down to the bg's and forum team, no-one has any sway on that.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -

What is the point of further discussion about the Regulars board if people don't want it then it will simply be a waste of time
why not do a poll in the New Year or better still do one NOW! before any further discussion takes place, I think that the MSE forum team are frightened of what the answer might be and have already decided about the Regulars board and disbanding it does not fit into there plans
if you are genuine about having a poll for and against the Regulars board
why not test the water now and see how many people would welcome such a poll0 -
