guess that means your going to sit on the proverbial fence then Glad

What is the point of further discussion about the Regulars board if people don't want it then it will simply be a waste of time

why not do a poll in the New Year or better still do one NOW! before any further discussion takes place, I think that the MSE forum team are frightened of what the answer might be and have already decided about the Regulars board and disbanding it does not fit into there plans

if you are genuine about having a poll for and against the Regulars board

why not test the water now and see how many people would welcome such a poll
    because
now is a very busy time for a lot of people, so a lot of people may not have the time to post valuable input

there are hundreds of comp posters but after a few weeks of discussion only 2 or 3 have asked for a poll, so the majority haven't, again that might be because it's a busy time and more people may enter the discussion in the new year

it's not up to me, it's a privately owned site with a forum team to run it but I will put it to them as one of the suggestions in the new year

some people do like the regs board and others want to see it working properly for a trial period before making a decision

can I just ask a question, for the purpose of trying to help, :)
when a comp is on the main board with an end date, but is a daily entry, how do you find it to enter each day?

I enter as they are posted so I will see it and bookmark it - those who enter by end date will have more difficulty!

I took it personally because u stated bg's were favouring certain posters and then u mentioned why did the advents get a sticky over the other threads that had requested one.

How can they be favouring me if the advents always have a temp sticky? Putting no disrespect then stating that doesn't mean it can't be took in a negative light.

Yes the written word can be misinterpreted on a forum as no-one can see the tone it is written in, I understand that.
And yes i do believe it was aimed at me as you brung up the advents.

Future stickies are down to the bg's and forum team, no-one has any sway on that.

i asked whythe advents get a sticky over other threads,
just because it happens every year doesn't stop me wondering why it happens, or am i not allowed to question things on here ?

i didn't say they were favouring you,

if you choose to make this into an argument fair enough,
& think you are taking things to personally

tbh i never check the regs board. well that's a lie, i have once or twice checked the dailies thread that is in there to see if there are any in there that i might want to enter and haven't already bookmarked but that's about it. never actually used the board, just the sticky.

I think that one of the things that should be emphasised as well is that the present search system on MSE is antiquated and clunky and doesn't really perform well on the competitions board

for example you should be able to just input E: 06/12 and the search should display all of the results from that date ;) etc

    because
now is a very busy time for a lot of people, so a lot of people may not have the time to post valuable input So why choose now to change accepted custom and practice as to where competitions are posted when people are so busy---So it can be presented as a done deal when they have time to look for all the comps they have missed only to find out they have been moved?

there are hundreds of comp posters but after a few weeks of discussion only 2 or 3 have asked for a poll, so the majority haven't, again that might be because it's a busy time and more people may enter the discussion in the new year. There are 1,000's of comp forum users and a handful who post in this thread either for or against disrupting everything, statistically meaningless either way but it is clear from other postings people are missing competitions because of the changes to custom and practice.

some people do like the regs board and others want to see it working properly for a trial period before making a decision and only some of that tiny tiny tiny tiny proportion of "regular" users appear to want things changed, if there is any favouritisim that is clearly where it lies. Seems like an election in some of those places where the government always gets 100% of the votes.
there are hundreds of comp posters but after a few weeks of discussion only 2 or 3 have asked for a poll, so the majority haven't

And by that logic more than 99% have not asked for a change to current custom and practice.

    Best of Luck :)

    ok thanks :)
    couple of questions
do you do this every day?
    do you search by date?
did I read it right that you search the main board and all child boards every time?
if so does it matter which board they are in? this is a genuine question I want to know the problems it causes you :)

what I really wanted to know is, if you find a comp with a daily entry on the main board how do you get back to it every day?
