• Hi y'all,

Well before I begin, I also had dodgey tum yesterday morn but that maybe down to ODing on veg then fruit for pud the evening before. Saying that, the other 3 ate exactly the same and were fine. Mystery. Maybe we have synchronised sympathetic guts or something? :rotfl:

Gonna watch the Horizon programme tomorrow night on why some people cannot put on weight. It involves an experiment from the 70s they've replicated and if you want more details go to https://www.bbc.co.uk then click magazine in the left column. Looks interesting.

Also, how do you make flax bread and is it nicer than oopsies? Making some "good" sarnies for work is another option and maybe cheaper than always taking boxes of salad in. x

2 eggs
1 tablespoon cream
1/2 teaspoon baking powder.
Mix wet ingredients, then add the dry. Pour into whatever container you like- (a lunch box makes it fit exactly into your lunch box afterwards)and nuke for 3 mins
u can make lots of variations of this by adding different herbs etc or add in sweetener and lemon or other essence or da vincis if u have it or s/free cocoa powder and make it into a cake

ok heres the other one i saw... havent tried it so cant vouch for how it tastes so if anyone does let us have feedback.... my understanding is that its fairly blank but has a bready texture

2 tbsp protein powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1tbsp heavy whipping cream
1 tbsp sour cream
garlic powder to taste (or you can substitute or add other spices)
salt to taste

mix all of these togegther. Microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds.. Once it is done, take it out..if it's thick enough, you can cut it in half and use on a sandwich, or burger as a bun...or just spread some butter on it and eat

happy cooking

Thanks Shykins - I'll be baking later so will try the second one out and report back!

I'll also be baking my protein muffins... this is the current recipe, but I'm still working on the details:

2853123163_7dc821be4f_m.jpg

Ingredients
2 tbs egg replacer powder
1 cup ground almonds
1½ tbs (2 scoops) hemp protein powder
1 tsp baking powder
4 tsp agave nectar
½ cup non-dairy milk
2 tsp ground cinnamon
3 tbs margarine
Handful fresh or frozen berries
Water as required

Method
Mix all the dry ingredients together. Then melt the margarine and stir in milk, nectar and berries. Add to the dry mix and stir well. The consistency should be loose and fluffy – add water if necessary to achieve this. Fill muffin cases and bake for 20 minutes at 180 degrees.

• Hi all,
Just to say i started last Tuesday and think I've lost a couple of pounds already but will report back on Tuesday.
No lecky here since yesterday. Wood burner keeping us warm, cooker has gas rings and one gas oven so okay there and generator now working 'puter and freezer. 'is nibs has even rigged up a light in the kitchen so I can see what I'm doing.
Tonight we will be having nut roast (made with brazils walnuts and chick peas) roast parsnips (down to my last 3 and unable to get anymore out here!) steamed broccoli and mashed swede. Roast pots for 'is nibs but do I care? (sob!sob!)
Made some choccy cakey things yesterday similar to Badger's. Not bad though I say so myself!
Vegetarian. Have cut out all high carb food. Not following any particular plan.Started 20/1/2009. Weight lost so far 29lbs. Target weight loss 38lb in total.
• Thanks Shykins for the recipes. Will try on my next day off and let you know. Think will have to start bulk buying ground almonds!!:D

Will try yours too Badger, though not sure wot the funky ingredients are e.g agave wotsit? :rotfl:

Won't do menu for today as decided to have weekends off (my 80/20 thing) so it involved bread and rice and HP sauce! Back on it 2moro tho.......x

Had a nice day today. Me and Gilly went for a walk - thought we should go out while the sun was shining - was a bit muddy where we were but fabulous views over the surrounding countryside and it was nice to get some fresh air.

shykins - do you tell your hub the 85% choc tastes like mud to put him off wanting any? Your secret's safe with us hun;):D xx

sue - be sure to send us a postcard:)

pilly - congrats on graduating! :T

b - none
l - cheese and salami with a slice of compressed hamster bedding (scan bran)
d - asda pork shank meal with sliced green beans (which we were meant to have last night, but didn't, coz we had M&S burgers with bacon and cheese instead)

Much love to all

Hiya peeps!

Pat pat pat for Daisy! :T

Slap slap slap for me :( Dad's birthday so he's in charge. Excuses out of the way it was KFC. I know I COULD have taken the coating off but I didn't. this is a northern family here and it's just not done :D It's the coating he paid for :)

The bakewell tart went down well. Funny, my nephew (17 on thurs) said 'is it ok if I dont av any?' SOOO sweet! He doesn't like almonds but he was still kind enough to ask :rotfl:

Anyway, as it was a party I had a calvados (the pure essence of cider! ) 2 voddies (before I left my house, tis good to arrive at parents a bit cushioned :) bro came to mine first and we both in agreement on this) and 3/4 bottle of shiraz.

kinda blown it big style but this was where I was before I started this so have hopes for the results of a clean week, next.

Not particularly peckish but fancy summat so mascarpone choc dessert sounds fun.

Have ordered some new jeans off tinternet so can't stray too far!

Gaye, where are you? You sound stranded without gas - is it Ukraine? :D Hope all is well with you soon. Well done on the useful Hubby, mind :T

Big love to all!
