Still nervously waiting for a reply to my request to £980 charges.
It's been over two weeks now - Is there a set time before I should write to Barclays again?...and on the 5th day, God created Sir Martin Lewis!:A0 -
I sent a letter to Barclays requesting my statements with the £10 cheque. I know they received it as I sent it recorded and have checked online. However, I've heard nothing and don't think the cheque has been cashed. Its been over 40 days as it was posted on th 19 April. Wot do I do now?0

How far down the line are you?
I sent my request letter in February!
1st offer should come in at about 50% of your claim
2nd offer will be about 75% of your claim
3rd offer comes about 2 weeks before your court hearing & I've still not got a date for mine yetGot It & Spent It :dance:IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)On Hold :mad:A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)0 -

If you haven't received all the information you require within 40 days, refer the matter to the Information Commissioner but they are busy too!Got It & Spent It :dance:IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)On Hold :mad:A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)0 -
Hi anyone help! doing this for my daughter. can she claim charges from feb01 - june 06 as she has not had charges before or since, or do you have to go from june 01 -june 07. please help!!
Just ask for 6 years - they may send moreAlso they might not notice the 1st 6 months are prior to the 6 years but technically you are not entitled to them
I only wish it was 7 years and/or I'd started this process sooner as I swear the banks charged me £3,500 in 2000!Got It & Spent It :dance:IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)On Hold :mad:A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)0 -

Thanks for the reply
I've not had an offer -- I'm actually prepared to accept a 'first' offer if it's 50% or higher.
It's my Wife's current acount and she's fighting he over-draft back on a month-by-month basis, so we'd be grateful(if that's the right word to be connected to Barclays!?) for £450.......and on the 5th day, God created Sir Martin Lewis!:A0 -

Its worth sending the LBA (Letter Before Action) as mentioned by Edinburghlass - ie threaten court - if you can wait a further to weeks you will no doubt get your offer upped from 50% to 75%Don't wait for them to reply - stick to your deadlines not theirs

well it had to hapen as soon as we entered judgement by default
barclays acknowlaged the claim what a suprise
more time wasting and more costs we have to pay out especialy when you cant afford them
now in total despare on what to do next
Barclays have a knack of doing that!
You get to the 28th day and you think you've won then you find out they are allowed an extra 5 days for post office delays. THEN if the 33rd day falls on a weekend or bank holiday they get an extra day too! So you get in at 1am on the site (well I was up at the time LOL) for your Judgment by Default and before the end of the day it gets rejected because they hadn't processed that days post at 1am! :rotfl:
So you just have to wait for their defence document to arrive now, then to get passed on to your local court, and then your final offer to negotiate about a week before it's in court!Got It & Spent It :dance:IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)On Hold :mad:A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)0 -
im at the stage where barclays have said they are going to defend the whole claim of £4192 with interest! have they ever gone to court before etc?
with me being one of lifes unlucky people im losing the will to fight as my luck will turn out to be ill be the 3rd person to lose in court!
Anyones help will be greatly appreciated!0 -
Hi have heard ,that as soon as Barclays put in a defence, ring them on this number, 0207 1161943 give them your case number and they should repay all your charges. , if this doesnt work ,wait until you are given a court date, then ring them again, and tell them that a court date has been set, then you will get your money back, let us know how you go on, and good luck0
