Great result thriftykatie :j 40 mins is what I aim for, though I do it over two pieces of equipment :) If I used 9 for the speed on my treadmill though I would be sprinting  though not for very long. 470 is a great number well done :j

Are your machines mph rather than km/h? 9 is a speed which I guess is a fast jog and can keep it up for around 40-50 minutes if I have the time (and inclination!). IF I do intervals I do 2 mins walk 2 mins 8.5 2 mins walk 2 mins 9.0 etc up to about 12 and after that I really can't do any more - and am very red faced!

Have to agree with you about the gym being the key. I know that the eating I have done in the last couple of weeks would have had a very negative effect if it wasn't for the gym. If I could sort the eating I would have been slim and sylph like ages ago! Have to make do with fit and looking good-ish for the moment :D

Haven't read all the thread as it's sooooo long.

I joined SW last Tues and due for first weigh in tomorrow. Half a stone heavier than when fully pregnant 5 years ago and I put 2 stone on when pregnant.

Motivated now (1st time since my son was born that I have dieted, previously a serial yoyo dieter).

Not sure of goal, just want to be fitter and slimmer, maybe a size 14 to be big on me. Currently size 18 is big on me.

    Hi all

Don't worry, I haven't deserted you all, I worked late tonight so I haven't had chance to do the chart yet, but I'm not at work until late tomorrow so I'll catch up with you all in the morning.

I maintained, but considering what a difficult week it was, I'm quite happy with that. I've got no excuses this week, so I'm hoping to see a good result.

    See you in the morning.

    Morning all
Just to say Well done to all the loosers brilliant how well you have done. Well bad luck to the ones who gained (me included) but hey today is a new day. Felt great yesterday going to the gym for the first time in 3 weeks and today my back feels so much better. Off on a little round trip to Kent today but DH is coming with me so I will be driven all the way. Not bad.

Take care all and keep up the good work.

Not sure whether the machines are mph or kph, 4.0 is a fast walk, 5 is a reasonable job, 7 is sprinting time. To be honest I did get up to 15 mins of gentle jogging, but that was in October before the operation. I have started to build up again but currently doing intervals of 1 min jog, 3 min walks. I always have the incline on at least level 2 :)

On the cross trainer I can do up to 30 min of level 10 which would give me around 600 calories burnt, Normally though I tend to do 20-25 mins, it all depends on how busy the gym is. It doesnt help however that both bikes are out of action at the moment.

I use the gym as an aid I dont deny it, add to the fact I have better eating days (not perfect) then it all helps. What doesnt help is that I didnt eat properly yesterday, as in no evening meal, but a diarylea dunker and two yoguarts. :o

    Welcomes to ScoobieGirl and ...

...V.Lucky You sound like so many of us here (I should have made my user name 'The Yo-Yo Queen' :D ). Don't think that you have to set an end target, just take it as you feel and if you want to drop 2 dress sizes then that will be a worthwhile achievement. If you look at Lois's chart you will see that some of us have set ourselves a mini target of 5lb by the first Monday in April. I've found this to be invaluable, as last month I missed it by 0.4lb and was really ticked off with myself, but it has motivated me to succeed this month.

I went shopping this morning for fruit, veg etc and whilst I was carrying it home I thought that it was quite heavy as I'd only put it all in one bag rather than spreading it between two. When I got home I looked at the checkout slip and found that the total weight was just over 9.5 lbs; as I have lost over double this amount it made me realise just what strain I'd been putting on my lower limbs etc before. When we only lose half a stone we tend not to think of it as much of an achievement, but try carrying it for an hour and then realise that we carried it 24/7 together with the other half stones.

Connie and Victory, this is part of my 'positive thinking' and to try and repay everyone for their help when I was at a low point, (and to stop me from getting embarrassingly hyper as last week :o - DD had words with me :rotfl: ) I just have to learn to stop rambling though.

    Hi all :D

Welcome to Scoobiegirl and V.Lucky, I'm sure you'll enjoy being part of this thread, and gain some motivation along the way.

I looked on Monkeypie's website a few weeks ago (link from another site) and it's got some really good recipes (some you may have already got).

Lois, I'm still in the main chart when I could do with being in the 'on hold' section till after my hols please. Thanks for all your work, you're a star :staradmin

Off to work soon, then onto group. We had 8 new members last week, but 2 of them didn't stay to the class so I wonder whether they'll turn up tonight  it's strange how many do this, but I guess they hope having the book is enough and they'll do it alone & save the money - wonder if any of them belong to this thread ;)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
