  • I agree OneTel should really get their act together over this ridiculous confusion.

    Re. Customer Service no's
I have a letter re. CPS confirmation which gives 0845 818 8000 for CS.
    I also have 0800 957 0357, 0800 957 0298 & 0800 957 0009, all of which eventually connect to the same call centre (in India).

To get any joy you have to select the option which says 'If you are moving home or thinking of leaving OneTel, press 1'. When you gridlock with the CS assistant they will either consult a supervisor or transfer you to one in the Customer Concern (Retention) dept. If they don't do this, ask them to.

A debate with the supervisor which includes the phrase 'Well then, I want you to cancel any and all existing plans and line registrations' usually results in agreeing that you can have the LeisureUKTalk plan FREE for a year and the £20 call credit for signing up online. You can even get this deal if you have been unsuccessful in signing up online as the supervisor will sign you up on the phone. I did 1 landline online & 1 via the call centre supervisor.

Keep on trying, you'll get there.

    Best wishes, Graham B

Anybody know what number you dial in front of the phone number while waiting for OneTel's Carrier Pre Selection to be set up? (Says it takes 18 days).
  • Early registrations use 1878, later registrations use 1877. Can't remember the date the change took place.

If you have registered your line recently it will be 1877. Activation can take up to 48 hours. Try it and see if it works.

    Best wishes, Graham B

I had signed up for the plan and got the credit which was £40 instead of £20. I received the first bill and everything was hunky dory the £3.99 was refunded and on top had a credit of £40. However, i check my account online today and they have reversed the £40 credit completely. I dont feel like taking up the issue at this point but when i get the next bill i will deal with it. Anybody else had this prob?

Pretty much the same as the other users who rarely venture this far north :T
I am sure you have also signed up for 18866 and/or 1899 too :rotfl:
  • My bill 'arrived' on line and lo the fixed rental charge was credited accordingly but no £20. I contacted their accounts call line and finally got the response (via the colonies) that the £20 will be credited after "you have paid your 3rd bill".

Seems fair enough as they probably want my custom for at least this period however they may change their mind as I will not be clocking up too many paid for calls in the meantime as I have 18866 and 1899 for daytime calls. :T

I will see if the £20 credit comes through on my 4th bill but as this condition did not appear on their site nor was this explained at sign up I feel a little miffed. Still they gave me 2 months fixed rentals credit against 97p of calls and they say they owe me £2.50...so not THAT miffed. Do they really know what they are doing - seems like this communications company is not communicating?

It depends who you speak to on the phone and how annoyed you are at the time, I think. I was told mine would be credited within 5 days. (Haven't checked to see it's there yet.)
EDIT: I've checked and it's there. It may be because they really messed me around and I got cross and got put through to their Customer Retention Department.
