Hi,
Im a bit confused can anyone help please? Just went to sign up with onetel and read this.
"Note: You will automatically be set up on our Select service, which routes all calls to One.Tel and is a requirement of your chosen call plan."
So, can I still use BT and 18866?
Will my Orchid dialer work?
Is talk talk the same thing. I would rather just put a code in to access onetel if possible.
Thanks

First of all TalkTalk are no longer offering the same deal of free UK w/end and evening calls, this now has a monthly charge.
If you sign up for the this deal with Onetel, yes they will be your CPS for all calls unless you re-route them by dialing a code, be it 1280 for BT or 18866.
Your evening and w/end UK calls will then be free with Onetel and if you sign up to 18866 you would then use 18866 for daytime calls which would work out at 2p per call. Should you require to dial a 0845 or 0870 number these are best routed through BT by dialing 1280 and those calls will appear on your BT bill.
HTH and if you require any help regarding the Orchid Dialler best posting on that thread for expert help.0 -
I signed up with the onetel free offer through the MMT link in February and find that they are charging me for the service as a previous customer.
They didn't warn me about it and it isn't specified on the online bill: I rang their callcentre who wasted 20 minutes of my time and money and didn't help and I emailed them only to be told:-
"We would like to inform you that, this offer is only available for new customers signing up for LeisureUKTalk through the web site. Since you had not registered a new number rather changed the call plan to the LeisureUKTalk plan you are not eligible for this offer. However, as an existing customer you still benefit from free weekend calls, free directory enquiries and guaranteed savings against BT together when you are on our StandardUKTalk plan." I am asking for a refund.
I understand from this forum that other moneysavers were refused the offer at the time of application if they were prior customers. Something went wrong in my case and I can only suggest that you check your onetel online bill very carefully.0 -
If you read some of the replies from existing Ontel users, they went on and fought for the free year with Onetel. I would suggest you try again with Onetel and say you will leave them and see if you are put through to someone else.0

I emailed them a couple of times and they actually phoned me to say they'd put me on the Leisuretalk plan with £20 call credit.0 -
We're on TalkTalk's 12 months free offer but were with Onetel in the past. We tried to get the £20 and 12 months LeisureUKTalk and got this email reply:
Thank you for your recent e-mail.
We apologise as we are unable to offer you the 'Free LeisureUKTalk'. This offer was only for customer who registers new phone number's online.
If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us, our E-mail Team would be happy to help. Alternatively you can visit our Virtual Customer Service Centre.
Thank you for choosing One.Tel.

Any ideas on how exactly to reply to this as it seems pretty dead end.spacey0 -
You should really phone them rather than email. I phoned them and when they refused, I said that I had been a customer for some time, and I would go elsewhere if they didn't put me through to a supervisor in the customer retention department.
He immediately gave me the free evening and weekend calls.
I hope this helps.0 -
Do you think I'd be lucky to get the £20 Credit as well? Seeing as I'm not actually with them at the moment but only happen to be a past customer...spacey0

You can but try0

Phoned them but they wouldn't issue credit or free calls on the basis that we are registered with them.
Any ideas for "unregistering", if this is possible? They said I couldn't unregister my landline :mad:spacey0
