Marigold, have you tried signing up to 1899 with your mobile number, a trick that works with 18866 as Curry_Queen found out last night
Once signed with your mobile number you can then add in your landline number!0 -
Marigold123 wrote:You may find you can't join 1899 at the moment. I tried a couple of days ago and got a 'failed subscription' email, as they were not taking any more registrations. (You can still join up to call18866, though.)
If you succeed with 1899, do let us know!

PS: I signed up with my NTL landline number too, not mobile0 -
That's strange! But if it works it works!
Cheers, guys, I'm off there now!:)
EDIT: Well, it said 'registration successful', but it said that last time too, so I'm waiting for my email confirmation to be sure.A penny saved is a penny gained0 -

Just watch out for all those big 18866 bills!
Mine was a whole £1.50.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I found this metod by trail and error but mainly by accident.
I was a dormant Ontel customer ...... I had not used my Onetel account since I got 18866 about 9 month ago...... my account was just left open but unused.
I tried the Onetel customer service who were reluctant to give me the credit so I tried to sign up again. When I input my phone number it recognized it so I entered it agian with a tyop........I mean typo.......see how easy it is...... this time it let me set up new account and I was able to change the phone number back later at a confirmation page. Also had to change my DOB by a day.
Voila........new account no and alll the freebies
When I realized it would work I went back and signed up through rpoints to get extra points

You can get the £3.99 back if you tell them that you're leaving. I told them that and they put me through to a supervisor who re-instated the leisure talk without charge. My bill showed that they had not charged me the £3.990 -
Patience & perseverance - that's ALL it takes - but don't ya need some?
Registered 2 landlines with OneTel when they first started. Put the main no. on Select but then switched it to Tele2 when they started. Never had Select on the 2nd line or any call plans on either line. Hadn't used OneTel on 1st line for ages and only used 2nd line occasionally for OneTel internet dialup - when BT Broadband Basic went down - but that's another thread! Still with me so far?
Spotted this current deal on this fantastic site on 28/02/05. Didn't know offer was being extended so signed up immediately. Stated I was an existing customer, registered both landline no's & 2 mobiles and sign up was accepted showing LeisureUKTalk would be FREE (I love that word) for a year.
Got e-mail confirmation but the letters only referred to the 2nd landline no.
Got round to tel. them (at the Indian call centre) last night to ask about the other line. Was told would NOT qualify for offer as no's already registered and also would have to sign up again for 1st landline.
After 15 mins. debate - and threatening to cancel everything - a supervisor gave approval for the deal on the 2nd line currently being processed. One down!
Tel'd again this a.m. & tried to get other line set up without having to do it again on line. Was advised that would not qualify but could try on line again.
Tried on line sign up for other line but it would only go thro' with 2nd landline no. - the one that's already been accepted - already!
Tel. call centre again, had another debate, asked why deal agreed last night on one line but being refused on other - why the difference? Threatened to cancel again. Was transferred to a very conciliatory supervisor who did her best to explain that the offer was only aimed at attracting new line registrations. I said I had already got that message but asked why the web site stated:
"Please note: Offer ends 31/03/05, available to all customers signing up for a new landline plan. ..."
I asserted that I was a 'customer' and I was 'signing up for a new landline plan'. The supervisor agreed that this definition could not only apply to 'new' customers or new 'landlines'.
Result: LeisureUKTalk FREE for a year on BOTH landlines
Moral: All you guys & gals who are still battling, or have given up - Keep at it  and you will taste sweet success
Isn't it great when a plan comes together? Go to it. Will be with you in spirit.
Yours in the battle
