Unfortunately I paid with a cheque over a year ago. Still got nearly a year remaining on my E7 subscription. Does anyone know if there are any ways I can get my money back?0

Here is a summary of the info around the net at the moment regarding E7 and the new deal by Ezeedsl. Please note first of all that this info is only put together from what I've seen out there so far (there is still a lack of information coming from E7)..............
Is E7 still trading?
E7 still exists as a company, but it seems they don't have any customers now.
Which E7 customers are affected?
This last weekend, E7 users with the login @e7broadband (Tiscali network) went offline. Word is that the @bbuk login (Netservices network) will go offline on the 5th July.
Is the Ezeedsl offer genuine?
More and more, it is looking like a deal has been struck in the background giving Ezeedsl access to the E7 network and database. This would explain the speed with which they can reconnect your broadband.
Is the Ezeedsl deal a good one?
This is difficult to answer at the moment. There is no past history of this ISP to judge them by. If you sign for the deal they offer. You are signing up for a brand new 12 month contract.
How quick can I reconnect my broadband?
If you take the Ezeedsl offer. They can reconnect you in an hour. If you are wary of this deal, the word is that your E7 line will be cleared by the 14th July. This will leave you free to compare, and sign up for any ISP you like.
I have money outstanding with E7. How do I get a refund?
No matter which new broadband deal you take, your outstanding debt remains with E7. The Ezeedsl deal will reconnect your broadband under a new package, but they are not taking over E7s debts. If you paid by credit card, I would seriously suggest you contact them to get your money back. Another option is the small claims court (though even if you win in court, if E7 have no funds, you still might not get your money).
If I was in the position that E7 users are now, I would use dial up for the next few weeks, and wait till my line clears from the E7 connection. I would then use ADSLGuide (or here) to get advice for the best broadband package to suit my needs. There is not enough info out there yet to be able to judge what the Ezeedsl service is going to be like (certainly not enough info to be locked into a new 12 month minimum contract). Mr Saffron over at ADSLGuide has normally got good contacts within the ISP trade. As soon as he finds out any more news on this story, for sure he will let everyone know what hes found out.

This is my contribution. Having lost connection on 23rd march when e7even increased speed, I chose to move to "free broadband forever" with talktalk and was told by my son (another e7even user) of the statement that appeared on sat 1st July which he printed off. Yes, a company connected to tiscali were touting for business. It also seems that the 14 th July is the date e7even will cease. I am concerned because i now need my mac code for talktalk. TT said try to contact e7even and get your code. About 10.30am I phoned both lines at e7even and after hearing the messages, was told "the offices are now closed". I will send an email via the library and see what happens.TT tell me that if this is unsuccessful, I should phone Ofcom/Oftel who have my case on record and they should pass me on to BT Wholesale then i should request the line be cleared of the "tag". Presumably TT can then generate a new mac code.I have to say this is my interpretation of the situation, someone else may know differently, if so, then please correct me.Regarding e7even's original marketing ploy, "join e7even for £10 per month", if you recall, it was £240 per yr with a free year, I assume instead of handing out all unused monthly £10's, they will say, "you've used your paid year, and lost your free year".So. can anyone advise me the route i should now take please? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I am not sure anyone can drop the tag, I go the impression that the tags will be dropped by e7even on the 14th July, then we are free to go elsewhere. Unless we can get those MAC codes before.0

The only problem with signing up to a new ISP without a MAC could be extra cost involved.
Most ISPs will sign you up with a MAC, and not charge a connection fee.
If you sign up for an ISP without a MAC, you are regarded as a new customer, and a lot of times have to pay a connection fee (a one off payment on top of your monthly subscription). Of course, some ISPs are doing a free connection deal for new customers. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

May I suggest. Clearly this thread and a new one ie "whatever has happened to e7even" on the internet thread, maybe ought to be combined, as those of us who have been users of e7evens service are now desperate for information. On the subject of refunds. You may remember it was £240 for a 2 yr period, namely pay for i yr and the second year free, so we may find that those of us who have had the service we paid for, have only lost our free year.I notified ofcom and otelo ages ago and they have my details on file, but couldnt do anything untill my connection had been off for 12 weeks, (it is now 103 days).I also notified my credit card company and they are monitoring the situation and phoning me monthly to see what developments there are.Like everyone else, I need my mac code but both e7even phones are not accepting calls. Is the only route now to go back to otelo the BT wholesale and request the marker be removed as talktalk are ready to connect me and can't without the code. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
