Pruhealth gym loophole Article Discussion

Pru chained in the gyms with a five year contract that ends in October this year as you say Scott....
...Think we may need to cross fingers that the discounted gym membership continues as the rework of vitality last year moved Pruhealth's emphasis from just being on free/discounted gym membership to being on lots of other vitality partners like fitbug - and unrelated benefits like euro*.
My feeling is that this may have been a bit strategic, repositioning PruHealth from being the 'cheap gym people' - easing the pain if they couldn't (or didn't wish to) renew these contracts for this Autumn...
I'm sure we'll find out shortly if this is the case but in the meantime let's keep it all crossed0 -
I did my third fitness test at my gym (Nuffield, ex Cannons), and my fitness rating dropped from excellent to good:o
So, they didn't give me extra 200 points. Is that right? I thought one could get 200 points if one maintains the fitness level above average? You can earn additional points for either maintaining or improving your fitness rating. I have included the details of this in the table below:
However, we were unable to award these points to your policy as your fitness rating decreased by one level.0 -
Evening all,
My Fitbug is now redundant, I only score 150 points per month combining gym visits and uploading step-stats. This leaves me 20 points short of my Platinum target, so I've registered my Nectar card for the Sainsbury's (a shop I hate) deal.
Does anyone know if you score points on frozen fruit & veg, which is probably healthier than Sainsbury's so called "fresh" produce?
Cheers

Can't anyone else see on the guide below:

On the the top of the 'Exercise' section, it says '200 for maintaining a fitness level average or better'?
I feel cheated.0 -

TBH I can see how it can be interpreted either way. My understanding was that you had to maintain the same level to get the points. I think what they are trying to say is you don't get points if you maintain a 'below average' level.
Sorry:o0 -

Hello all,
coming to the end of my first year in pru health and i've been thinking about a few things and wondering if anyone can clear up my confusion?
as it stands i am on course to get platnium just before the end of my first year, my questions are in the second year and how does it work?
will i stay on platnium level and recieve all the benefits associated with it (i.e med screen vue cinema tickets)
or will it revert back to bronze (with only the addidtional discount 100% on my monthly premium)
what will happen to the gym? will i recieve the free gym for being on platnium once i go into my second year or will i revert back to bronze and continue to pay the full admission price?
hopefully you an see were im getting at, don't want to continue if i revert back to having to pay full price for gym.
can anyone clear this up?

It will stay on platinum with all associated benefits and maximum discount on gym membership.
You'll carry forward 10% of your accumulated points to next year, and then all you have to do is make sure you reach 2000 points again by the end of year 2 so you continue to benefit from platinum status in year 3.Operation Get in Shape

thank you
fingers crossed for the reneal of pru health gym contracts.
gut feeling is with all the increased gym subscription for non platnium users
is that they are getting the cash together to renew it.
with the credit crunch the gym compines should ( in theory) be looking at securing fincance for long term.
so guess we will hope and see.0
