I signed up myself and my partner to Pru and used cannons about 2 years ago, but cancelled MY policy after the first year. My OH still attends a currently has GOLD status. Can I re-enable my policy as a joint policy, I really should start going to the gym again?
Thanks in advance.
Hi firewok crazy,
Yes you can enable your joint policy. No you won't start at Gold though unfortunately.
You would have to speak to Pru as to the way your points go.0 -
Thanks PMI
I will give them all call.regards

Tips on getting Plat very quickly.
Get a fitbug
Join Gym when on silver. Once done, attend 15 times a month and make sure you also go the fitbug. Seems you can register both even though it says you cannot - bug in the Pru system. So - 2 months- thats 600 points for joint.
Ebay. As joint, we bought 240 points worth off ebay under sports area. Eg swimming bags, etc. I made sure I bought the items with free delivery so they cost me like just over a £5 each. Mussis also bought some gym clothes
Flu jab -
Roadtohealth assessement. £25 BUT I worked it out by having one In coud get Plat at the end.
Cholesterol test.
Read the articles.
Declare non smoker
Also - check the goals. One goal is for screening. Set the goal, have the health check, and extra points.
Stress tests
And thats it. Ok - it is easier to get to Plat if you are joint. You have to have a plan and go for it. Ok - it cost me money that I had to lay out. But with going with PMI and his cashback, and not including ebay stuff, I rekonn its cost me £50 to get free gym membership.
Currently going to try and get 5000 pointrs so I can carry over 500 points at the end of the year.

I could kick myself! I went for my fitness assessment yesterday, then two minutes AFTER I got home I discovered that I now had "assess your fitness" available as one of my personal goals - and could have got an extra 50 points just for doing it, if I'd looked in advance   - still, no real hurry, I'm in Year 2 on Platinum and I've got months left to build up to Platinum again for next year (will most likely be up to Gold by the end of this month and Platinum by early April - policy renewal's in September!)
Masterwai:
The discounts on gym membership depend on the accrual of Vitality points, which can be earned by various means including gym visits. Your gym fees will always be a lot more expensive at the beginning while you build up your points. Read through this thread (most particularly, those posts since around July 2008 as the system changed on 1st November and it was in July that they announced the upcoming changes so that people could start planning how to make sure they had enough points to keep their fees down. Also read this thread on the Health and Beauty board which was started just after the changes were announced. Both of these threads contain lots of clarification as to how the system works, and examples of how to build up your points quickly.
As regards Fitbug, you don't need to upload your stats every day. Once a week is enough (you can scroll through your Fitbug and see your previous stats for up to 7 days in the past). When you're at risk of losing data because you haven't uploaded for a week, an indicator starts flashing on the bug to remind you.Operation Get in Shape

Hi All
Question - when on your second year on Vitality, I know 10% of previous years points get carried over, does anything else get reset or even reset eg articles?

Hi Scott,
Good news!! Yes everything gets reset so you can redo them year after year i.e. vitality review, stress test, articles, non smoker declaration, goals etc etc :j
Also its 10% of your firsts years points get carried over, then 15% next year, 20 % the year after, then 25% and it stays on 25%. :j0 -
Cheers PMI - really good news. Makes it alot easier the following years now.
Now, I just have to pray Pru redo the contracts with the qyms as I beleive the run out at the end of this year from another thread and not clobber us existing users with any extra payments.
