Wow! A bargain. That's alright then I thought it was going to be 40% / 45% / 70% - pick any other nightmare figure that's been thown out about by the media recently.

Isn't that what I'm supposed to think?

Really, really annoyed about this. How can they give absolutely no notice whatsoever and then tell us that even if we switch today, it will take upwards of 6 weeks before we are transferred over the a new company and tarrif??

I will be switching over to Scottish Power this afternoon as their prices are cheaper with a fixed deal until 31st August 2009 compared to EDF without a fixed price deal.

If you dont call the recent hype in the media (aswell on this website, by Martin and others) a notice about things to come I dont know what is.. I dont even think this is the last rise from EDF, more to following later one.

If you do want to fix I would fix now. I fixed the same day that BG announced the first round of increases earlier in the year. I have already benefitted as prices have already gone up once already. I wouldn`t leave it too late as other companies will start to increase or remove their capped products.

The % thrown about was by the winter or by the end of the winter, expect more rises before 2008 is out. ;)

EDFs announcement is a combined average energy rise of 39%

Refer to your terms and conditions. I'm sure it will say they need to provide you notice...and that if you don't agree with such an increase you can switch to an alternative supplier whilst paying the old price until such switch takes place.

Edit: See term 3.2 of your supply contract
