Jarvis X-O and KIDs
I tried to make a IT investment in my childs JISA the other day and encountered the KID issue message (to telephone them, so they could manually do what they do). Needless to say I was a little unimpressed that they were still running this manual process, so I took fingers to keyboard and emailed them explaining my…

Opinions on holding CFP SDL BUFFETTOLOGY ina falling market?
I have been following this fund and its manager for some time and have been impressed with the performance albeit in a bull market. The funds life span is fairly short and has yet to encounter any severe market falls, also the fund costs are quite high. Opinions on the fund would be welcomed

Vanguard Minimum Addition?
I'm debating opening a direct GIA account with Vanguard as I'm at my ISA limit. Does anyone know what the minimum ad-hoc addition is that you can make please? Their site suggests you can add a £500 lump sum or a minimum of £100/month but it's not clear if you could, for example, add £100/week as a slow steady drip.

Help understanding equalisation units & accumulation distrubution
Hi, I've just started dabbling in investments, via a youinvest account, and have bought some Acc fund shares. I've got 2 entries on my account that I don't understand - Equalisation Acc Units, and Accumulation Distribution. Both have 0 units, but a value in GBP. Having googled, I'm not really any the wiser. Can anyone…

£10K to save for 3 month
Hi all, Title explains it really, I have £10k sitting in a joint account making no money, where would the best place to put this be? I'll need around a week notice to have access to the money, can't risk losing the money. Would premium bonds be my best bet here? Thanks in advance

Sell up and consolidate?
For the last few months things seem pretty flat with the funds I own, Is this a good time to sell all my funds, deposit the cash into a 3 or 5 year cash account with for example HL active savings or similar paying up to 2.7%, wait for the uncertainty of brexit and the ongoing trade wars to hopefully settle down, then…

Atom Bank maturing 1y bond?
I understand we can reinvest the balance of a maturing 1 year bond. And from older posts it states they contact you 3 days from the maturing date. How is this done, email, post and how do you inform them? Also can you do a partial reinvestment? Thank you.

Interest allocation on joint savings accounts
Is it possible to allocate savings interest, for tax purpose, in a proportion different from 50:50? (Obviously relevant only when over £2000.) How to report? Do you have to if no tax is due? Example: taxpayer married to non. Interest £3000. At 50:50, tax is payable on £500. At 33:67 no tax due.

Marcus online banking down
Marcus online banking has been down all morning as per the thread below. I have started a new thread as the title of the one below does not indicate that there is a problem with the site. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5903897

Exceeding Personal Savings Allowance
I’m a basic tax payer and understand that I can have £1000 tax free savings. I’ve about £100,000 - £130,000 currently with several banks and need the money in 18 months- 2 years time so I don’t wish to invest. I’m interested in the Marcus savings account with 1.5% but it will take me over my £1000 allowance so as I…

BT shares lost
My father bought the minimum shares in the plublic offering of BT shares back in early 80s. Since then he has held onto them and shares have been split into O2 and BT and new share certificates issued over the years. He has been receiving dividends until 2 years ago. Then suddenly the dividends stopped arriving. We wrote…

Children’s taxable savings interest
Hi First question: We’re about to open a savings account for our child - probably the NW Future Saver. Grandmother will make a deposit of £3000 which will return more than £100 in interest per year. If she puts this £3000 in as cash, do we have to prove somehow to the taxman that it didn’t come from us the parents? (so we…

Investec FTSE 100 Enhanced Kick Out Plan.
I have had success with this these plans since 2010. All my plans, bar one, matured after Year one and the other after Year 2. I understand all 118 plans since inception have successfully matured, the longest running to Year 3. The current offer for 10.25% is due to close. The product is described as a medium risk…

New to investing, any advice?
Hey, I'm looking at starting to invest. To get started, I've looked into P2P lending with Zopa or Rate Setter. I imagine I'd be better of getting the ISA account, thus, avoid tax on the interest gains? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Premium Bonds
Martin keeps saying that your chance of winning a prize with Premium Bonds in a year is zero if you only have £1000. I understand his argument about the median win but it is misleading. A more accurate description would be to say that, if you have £1000 of bonds, you should only expect to win once every two years with…
